    The film quality is surely A-plus, but the story it vibrantly captures is even more amazing. I am far from being a war-hawk, but WWII pushed the technological and scientific envelop into the modern age. The third picture from the top–the mining plant–stands out in my mind for its depiction of the scale of human will and ingenuity. One hundred years from now, its corollary may be a picture of a futuristic mining colony on some far-out asteroid. Hopefully, war will not have been the impetus for it. But what else pushes technology to rapid leaps?

    wow, the dynamic range of film still blows me away. Digital still falls way short in that category. I think I’ll bust out my 1982 Minolta this weekend… thanks for the post!
