Since the fall of IDM years ago many of the producers have gone on and completely stopped making music all together, rumors have it Arovane started dirt biking and Tim Tetlow like many look a computer job and have a family. Lusine on the other hand hasn’t stopped developing his sound, keeping true to the beautiful and danceability of his sound and gracing us with an album when he has time away from scoring films.

I miss Kelley Polar, he was my go to once the Junior Boys albums were getting worn out.

Software put out a beautiful album by Blanck Mass, a massive ambient sound that slowly rises into New Age at its best.

Pachanga Boys gained their recognition from the Kompakt Total compilation series, Time has been a popular track, sitting at 15+ minutes makes it the epic trance cool down jam of the night.

We just got the 1976 red/blue on heathered grey hoodies in the shop, a nice classic layout on a comfortable hoodie at a low holiday price, get them before they’re gone at the ISO50 shop.

There are soo many youtube accounts out there that put together found footage as music videos, some do it well and some don’t, some use footage we’ve all scene from famous 80’s and 90’s film and some like Broken Machine Films find some of the most obscure material and rework it completely.

Really digging this short piece by Gustavo Lopez Mañas. My favorite shots are the out of focus ones and the gold swirling in liquid. A great piece as we head into the weekend, get out there and shoot something!

Fairmont has been on my radar since he released on Traum in the early 2000’s, back then he did softer melodic techno, now he’s a lot more lively but rides that synth pop line that has a somber a side.

Maribou State follows suit of past year trends left behind by Teen Daze and Blackbird Blackbird, still a good formula but its starting to loose its luster.

I was able to catch a portion of Kuhrye-oo set a few nights ago, he can pack in unexpected emotional punch while showing off a different take on his sounds genre.

Using bold colors and a stylized graphics, I portray this architecture not as something that quietly blends into a background, but rather elevating achievements that embody the best and highest principles that Modern architecture has to offer all of us.

School Of Seven Bells have a new EP out this month, this collection has the clearest path of understanding to their sound for people just discovering them. Its full of thoughtful unique layers which pop music keeps missing away from.

Chrome Sparks puts together a colorful take on slowed up beat music, rich in brightness and moving parts.

Matthewdavid crawls around the head of recent Stone Throw signee Chrome Canyon single and replaces the brain with a more lively out of this world one.

A very inspiring and truly calming short interview by Milton Glaser, might help you slow down and not focus on the finishing line on your own personal work, I wish I spent more time with ink and watercolor, comes out very attractive.

Today, I bring you an incredibly talented individual, Benjamin JeanJean. I am very envious of not only his work, but his surroundings and life in general. An excerpt from his own biography reads:

“Deeply rooted in the surf and skateboard culture, Benjamin JJ follows life at his own pace on the French Atlantic coast: he drives a 1965 404 Peugeot; lives in an old house he renovated himself, packed with vintage furniture and art pieces; surfs on an old school longboard and takes pictures with a medium format analog camera. Time seems timeless for him. ”

Sounds like the life, if you ask me. Benjamin is well-versed in design, surfing (both shaping and riding), and photography. In todays world, everyone uses their computer or their digital cameras (or phones) to create art, but I find it refreshing to see someone who doesn’t mind getting dirty and taking the time to really put a bit of himself into the things he creates. From pencil and paper, to a surfboard. I love the idea of creating something beautiful that you can also use and enjoy beyond just looking at it.

He has inspired me to pick up a pencil and paper, start working with my hands more, and live my life the way I want to live it.

Certain Creatures brings back the melodic and detail oriented end of deep techno that I cherish from years back, its that climb in place with smooth waves of swells that keeps you going and wanting more.

Perfecting the control and feeling of distance is a game of subtlety in music especially if your looking for a quality sound as a result. Billow Observatory couldn’t be more experienced sounding, the fullness is there and you feel surrounded by nothing all the way to the horizon, beautifully done.

Tropic Of Cancer and HTRK drag in haunting reworks of Fascinator and More Alone from their coldest recordings, they give soo much musically to make your loneliest moments less tragic and leave you with a sense of worth. So you pretty need this record if you ever feel that way.
