I’ve seen people working with these sort of projection setups before but I don’t think I’ve seen it executed on this level. This is ISAM, Amon Tobin’s new visuals system developed by Blasthaus, VSquared Labs, Vita Motus Design, Leviathan and others which was debuted at Mutek on June 1st, 2011. Simply breathtaking even on the web; I can’t imagine what it must have been like to experience this in person. Great video, but would have been nice to see an extended version with more of the development process although we do get a small peek into the behind the scenes.
Amon Tobin ISAM

Great blog! Some amazing material here.
.. by FAR the best show I’ve ever been too; been a huge fan of Amon Tobin for years and the ISAM experience was BIBLICAL! I was lucky to meet him a week before at the album’s artwork exhibition in London, and, wow! Chilled, down-to-earth, super-friendly guy; can’t say anything wrong about this absolute magician! Obviously.
Well, saying that, I’m really looking forward to the new Tycho (and the artwork), it’s been too long mate!
Cheers.
GO VELLO and Matt Daly. Amazing.
Saw him live about 8 years ago and it was a pretty amazing show visually but nothing like this.
Also looking forward to more Tycho. Great Job!
I pre-ordered the deluxe edition of Isam, and was not disappointed. Amon Tobin is a master of sounds, and I’m pretty bummed out that I didn’t see this live.
Ooooohh, my. This really raises the bar. Thanks for posting this!
I was allmost there at his show.. but there was something wrong with the ticket system 🙁 I still can’t really comprehend how they do this..
Cool stuff…Thanks for posting this.

I was at the Amon Tobin gig as live in London. It was incredible. Here are my pics from the night. http://www.flickr.com/photos/discoroge/sets/72157626995627496/
Not as good as the ones on this site but gives you some idea of what went down.
Seen the Amon Tobin show a view weeks ago.
Must say it looks nice for some parts, but it’s mostly overdone and I had almost no “live-feeling” with this show. More of a to hyped-up-firework-show.
Best augmented art work I saw was during the TodaysArt Festival 2008 in my hometown The Hague on our cityhall: http://www.pablovalbuena.com/work/public-art/
Pablovalbuena is a must see for the real Augmented Art

that is so sick, I wish he touched down in America. Seeing that would just be absolutely incredible. Even if his music wasn’t great (which it would be) the visuals alone would be worth the price of admission.
The ISAM performance was utterly incredible. I’ve played with projection mapping before but I’ve never witnessed it executed at such an astounding level before. I happened to meet an A/V Tech who works at The Roundhouse in London the week before the gig and he showed me around the set up afterwards, stunning achievement from the crew, it really sets a new benchmark for what is possible live. I think this will have to be learnt from and built on seeing as more and more artists are just staring at computers on stage nowadays.
After seeing this video and some others in the past month I’m super excited to see Amon Tobin at this year’s Moogfest. I don’t know if it will be the full show as shown in this video but if so I’m prepared to have my blind blown. By the way it would be so very cool for Tycho to be at Moogfest!
I saw it in London, it was nothing I’ve ever EVER seen before. Absolutely amazing, thanks for the post.
North American dates are on sale now. See you at the Warfield 10.01.11?
