ItalTek+Airbird+BlackMarble+TryToFindMe

[audioplayer post=28616]
The beat world is getting speedy like 150-170 bpm sometimes. You can definitely make it sound good, there’s a few that come to mind like Machinedrum, Africa Hitech, Braille etc. You can add iTAL tEK to that list too, he makes it work, not out of trend but within the style he’s working in.

I’m obsessed over this Airbird(half of Ford & Lopatin) cut, I wish all audiobooks sounded like this.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Black Marble really surprised me this morning, I found myself not being able to stop looping it, just hooky, like if Tanlines & John Maus relaxed and had to do a outro for a soundtrack.

If you follow vinyl only label Golf Channel you’ll be happy to hear they are moving into the digital world exclusively via Juno Download. I personally love their edit 12’s this one especially by Try To Find Me.

Onuinu: Happy Home Video

If you were able to catch the latest Tycho tour you probably have noticed the great support Onuinu at the shows. His latest official video for his single “Happy Home” has a very human touch to it, the song is almost impossible to not fall in love with, I promise it will become a mixtape favorite for the real indie music junkies.

Portishead remixing Ride? if you’re 30 or older you’re probably rushing to press the play button or cursing the computer of why there isn’t a link to the vinyl.

Now this has to be the best Holy Other song i’ve heard, I thought the best was already made, surprisingly diverse by splitting the song into 2 portion, it could almost be 2 song, I personally love the denser first half. I have to give him credit he is taking ownership this vocal style.

New one from The Field via the great guys at Adult Swim Singles Series, this one is a bit different it breaks down into a more direct kick in the second part thats a bit more it your face, really impressed as always with what he chooses to loop.

Here’s a new one from me, I wanted a lot of audio decay like a microphone in a pouch giving it this illusion of a hidden sparkle beneath erosion, as always the motions of the melody are highly influenced by shoreline views and their movements.

Remixes upon Remixes for you & The Xx

[audioplayer post=28523]
Like some sort of grainy breeze Howlings take over a Sun Glitters cut and run it thru their tender machines and piece together a dreamy remake of the song “Outside”.

Its been a minute since i’ve found any Keep Shelly In Athens, and to no surprise its with Chad Valley’s band Jonquil, seems like a perfect match up.

The problem with not living in Brooklyn is that you don’t get to graze shoulders with bands like Innergaze weekly and hear them play, it meant the world to me now that I realized it.

Another match up thats very similar is DFA’s Still Going and Coyote, both acts understand that spacey early Detroit House soo well that i’m sure when they get either of each others parts for the remixing they smile and find some sort of relations.

ISO50: Soundcloud Who To Follow Guide #1

I see even bigger things happening for Soundcloud in the future, mainly the community within it coming closer so I decide to start a guide of people to follow if you like what’s on ISO50. Below I started off with frequent users that make your feed more enjoyable with quality posts. Self Titled Mag always has daily good posts from all different genres. Cascine usually posts a preview of full albums which makes you feel like you have some sort of super fan access. The Revenge just has goodies upon goodies of tracks, mixes, and recently live sets.

SunGlitters+ERAAS+LockedGroove+Vessel

The new Shigeto remix EP hit shops yesterday, it came with remixes from Braille, Sun Hammer, Evenings and this moody beat that just glides thru a dense fog of colorful soundscapes…I said soundscapes I try not to use that too much but it works.

With a darker pulse a duo of ex-Apse artists come together to give us ERAAS, that perfect round thump and estrange vocals gives life to a song that keeps its head down and focuses on making quality music.

Vessel puts on a masterpiece of a performance within a song, like a chase scene within a story, with its casting of darkness thru the whole piece the end seems to reveal something good happening.

I picked this Locked Groove song for its atmosphere, I could listen to the first 1:30 on loop

Francisco Canton

Argentinian Graphic Designer and Visionary Francisco Canton has a great eye for fusing together colors and keep textures simple. I definitely like his video work as well, the treatment is pro and you can see some Charles Bergquist-esque qualities in there which is a favorite of mine.

Instagram Photo Favorites: 19th Edition

bradleycastaneda – I don’t cover many of the black & whites, they get too plain or overly influenced by capturing a photo that has been taken before. This feed has a great mix of mountain photos but the grit of the location shows, feels a bit more connected.

claireonline – You can almost hear the calmness in these photos.

diegovchavez – I’m careful about posting photos with too much HDR or sharpening turned up to the max, both can be controlled nicely in Camera+. I didn’t want to deny this upbeat feed because of my personal techniques, it was just too friendly once I started scrolling thru.

Kolombo + Terje + Tame Impala + Ariel Pink

[audioplayer post=28419]
I never went after the GusGus catalog, I liked what they did for Bjork – Hunter but that is my favorite Bjork song. I do like what Kolombo did for GusGus, mostly the chorus got a real good face lift.

If you want more Todd Terje just go in the search box over there to your right, I think i’ve posted over 10 tracks in the last year or so. I should just make a playlist of them all. The appeal is hard to put my finger on, its just what I like to hear, that spacey/psych disco guitar that sits in the back and a slow driving pace.

I want to like this Tame Impala song more, its just not clicking with me yet, I think I just need to listen to it 4 or 5 more times, what do you guys think?

Ariel Pink is really going for it, cleaned up completely, almost like there’s a joke behind it. The idea is there but the lyrics are making me wide eyed.
