Geotic+Brothertiger+ClueToKalo+Kleeer

If you haven’t already checked out Baths side project Geotic then you’re missing out on some of the best FREE calming music out there. I guess he reached 20,000 fans on facebook *walks around like a boss* and decided to gift a new EP to all of us, download it here.

Brothertiger follows the footsteps of Washed Out and early Toro Y Moi but with a lil more freedom when it comes to sugarcoated synths, I guess he plays in Brooklyn at the end of next month, definitely going to check him out.

I was a big fan of Clue To Kalo, I think I liked it way more than Postal Service when all of this stuff was popular in the early 2000’s, this CD stuck around and a few songs especially let my mind roam around while I sat and worked.

**Throws it into 4th and pulls onto a coast side road and puts the top down, lets Kleeer take it home**

Tokimonsta+Yasume+Monster Rally+Khaled

Photograph by: Timothy Long

This new Tokimonsta song is sooo freakin’ beautiful, it reminds me of an old Eliot Lipp track caught in a windy dust storm.

Old Yasume tracks will always pop up on this blog, reminds me of how good older melodic IDM was, ohhhh at 1:17 mmmmmmmmmm.

I have been loving everything from Monster Rally, very looped based work but still has this feeling a band is playing it, grab their EP here.

I had to post this DJ Khaled instrumental that Sam posted on his facebook, I probably couldn’t stand being in the room with anyone on this track but this beat is undeniably great from big room poppy rap.

Flying Lotus – Stones Throw Podcast

First of all, I wish I was looking at a tracklisting of this mix with you but I can’t find it sadly. Stone Throw does it again and scores with a unique mix of old treasures from Flying Lotus record crates, grab it here and subscribe to the series.

Mark E + Braille + D/R/U/G/S + Essay

Finally for the Mark E fans we have an album to ride out for a long listening session under the name Stone Breaker, its became available on 2xLP yesterday and don’t forget to download the extended edit of one of my favorite tracks for free here.

I post a lot of Praveen’s work on ISO50, he’s half of Sepalcure and also Praveen & Benoit. This time around he’s making UK party jams for Rush Hour, this one rides out soo nicely with synth swells and a catchy diva vox.

D/R/U/G/S reminds me a lot of Gold Panda hybrids like Magic Mountain, Moths, etc. which i’ve posted a lot of recently. The quality/sugary loops are definitely there, hope to hear more from them soon.

If you need that deep ambience with a bit of kick to it this afternoon then this Essáy track will completely satisfy you.

Jacob 2-2+Eno/Byrne+Midnight TV+G.G.Dance

For all the early 80s PBS watchers take a second and download 2 FREE EP’s from Jacob 2-2. I was introduced to David via Com Truise, the guy is really nice and super talented with his synth work, Communicore is the music that should be played on that one show How Was It Made on Discovery Channel.

What is there to say about My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts that hasn’t been already said? my favorite track off that album has to be Mea Culpa. Those drums with that deep vox and then that hypnotic effected guitar with the howl?? pssssssshh untouchable.

“VHS hooks” thats my 2 word review of Midnight Television, pick this track up here, so much good emotion from a track that’s less than 2 minutes.

Gang Gang Dance might be one of the best live shows i’ve seen in years, Mindkilla is the first single from their new album Eye Contact. I don’t know if you remember the Drawing Restraint 9 but the singer probably does since he’s definitely borrowing from Bjork at times but that doesn’t matter, no one right now is bringing such creative high energy music that is this easy to get into.

Hype Machine Radio App

One site that has really been a huge help with the growth of ISO50’s music end growing is Hype Machine and they recently just launched their iPhone app. I’ve always loved the site as a MP3 feed but now thru the app you can listen to all the music we post/write about as a radio station.

If you get a second head over to the ISO50 Hypem feed and enjoy a continuous listening session.

Teeel + Dirty Beaches + Faux Pas + CFCF

Maybe New Jersey has hidden stacks of Italo and Synthwave records in their used record stores? Both Teeel and Com Truise come from there and have been on a tear lately putting together songs that are journeys into lush melodic lands in space. They have given the ISO50 readers the exclusive FREE download for this remix, enjoy: COM TRUISE – IWYWAW (TEEEL REMIX) – FREE DOWNLOAD

Starfawn shared this song with me last night by Dirty Beaches, definitely not hard to notice his influences but that doesn’t make me not want to put it on repeat.

Wanted to share this free Faux Pas track I found, reminds me of the good ol’ days of Ninja Tune meets when Caribou was Manitoba, those horns are great, grab it here for free.

If a band gets a CFCF remix i’m usually game to hunt it down and listen. Its definitely one of those softer dance cuts that are easy to swallow no matter what kind of music you listen to.

Gatto Fritto+Onra+Clams Casino+Terje

I can smell a Bloodsport soundtrack sample a mile away, let me know if you notice it in the synths or I might be crazy. Nothing bad, I actually love this song soo soo much, disco set essential.

Since I posted the Worst Friends Mix a few days ago i’ve been checking up each release and grabbing up certain tracks from them, I found this gem from the Onra & Quetzal album, that thing has like 30+ tracks!

I want to get my hands on the Clams Casino EP but no sign of it yet just mixtapes, been in love with this one which features Squadda B, I wish I was friends with Squadda B so I could just yell: “Squadda Beeee! if your in the kitchen would you mind bringing me a beer?”

Once in a while I look for new cuts from Todd Terje and Pilooski, this new find Snooze 4 Love is soo bubbly and easy to take in, enjoy.

Also, in other news my younger sister Martyna Alexander who’s mostly an illustrator and the talent of the family did this cute 30 second short of a chubby rabbit delivering a note that i’m obsessed with, its sitting over an old BoC track called Close4, adorable right? i’m IN LOVE with drawings 3 which his face shows such good embarrassment and 5, look how proud he is.

Selebrities + Tiedye + Garnier + Kangding

If the girls fall in love with Selebrities the boys will follow, this track is already penciled in for a few summer mixtapes, look for the LP on Cascine.

I don’t know if its a good thing but I hear New Radicals once the guy starts singing, either way I love what Tiedye did with it for the remix.

This more on the classic tip when it comes to production, I remember seeing this Laurent Garnier record everywhere when it came out, deep cut with some dated vox but hey its a lot better than what new house sounds like right now.

Let this Kangding Ray play out and fall into place, it magically starts forming together really beautifully.

As for the image above, any ideas? would love to give credit.

Free Worst Friends Podcast/Mix

My long time DJ partners Worst Friends(Slow Hands & Tom Croose) made maybe the best Saturday morning mix i’ve ever heard, not going say much besides I miss playing records with these guys and that they’re some of the most talented dudes, check out their new release on Prins Thomas’ label Internasjonal.
