Oh man this first preview of the new Brian Eno’s LP on Warp Records has me geeked, have a listen above, it grows into a bit of an educated punk kids dream.
Deep techno wizard Redshape is always on my radar, I prefer his singles over any other material, if you ever want to hear someone holding down the early melodic Detroit sound than look no further than this man.
Brooklyn’s Pandatone glitches out on a low key folk venture, for some reason after hearing this I started to miss the labels like Hefty and earlier Mush, those were the days for this kind of sound.
I imagine that if I had a playlist for snowshoeing in the dark i’d putting a bunch of Fenton on it.
ugh…i hate to bag on the mightly eno, but after i listened to that i was rocking a ‘yikes’ face. right up until it gets industrial it reminded me almost like one of muslimgauze’s more lackluster, aimless pieces. not good. i can’t quite pinpoint it, but it sounds like some forgettable late 90’s experimental piece you would have heard from a label like staalplaat or extreme or something.
i love eno, so i hope the rest of this album has more promise…either that or i’ll probably love it after i let it marinate for awhile..
Love Fenton.. that release on Plop was amazing. Redshape is in Australia in December – can’t wait! And The Pandatone stuff is new to me.. very nice.. it also has me longing for Hefty and Mush.
brilliant
lol @ snowshoeing to Fenton… I often commute to Fenton, sort of the same thing.
that eno track just really isn’t that good.. like at all. i think if a no name composed that song, it probably wouldn’t receive much attention.
I dont know why guys disliked the new Eno track. For me it creates quite the atmosphere, like your regular Eno. Cant wait for the new album.
