Italian manufacturer Brionvega has reissued Richard Sapper and Marco Zansuso’s iconic TS502 portable radio, now dubbed the TS522. These things go for $250 which is a bit steep, especially considering I haven’t listened to the radio in years, but with this kind of style who cares what it does.

Although its really beautiful, especially the burnt orange version, I can’t help but see a face in the dials… reminds me of the Mayor in Nightmare Before Christmas. I’d like it better if it were smiling, at least then it would give a positive subliminal vibe 🙂
It’s too bad it doesn’t have shortwave.
Looking through that site, I found myself marveling at the beautiful designs, but wish they weren’t all about to become obsolete.
Something like cuboglass could make an amazing HD set. I’d love for my television to transform in to a piece of art when it was turned off.
i second andy’s sentiments about it lacking SW. too bad, i’d be all over it otherwise…would be great for sitting in the canoe fishing on a mellow morning sipping coffee, and tuning in some beautiful other-wordly shortwave noise.
i got the orange one, and it still work, my father is udes to listen to this radio sicne so many years 🙂
i’m surprised they have not released a digital version!
hey !
I don’t care about T-shirts… I’m just looking for a re-issue Briovega to buy.
