Casa Kimball is the ultimate getaway house that we all wish to acquire sometime in our lifetime. The house is situated on a cliff alongside the beautiful Atlantic Ocean coastline and clocks in at an outstanding 20,000 square feet in size.
The house is also accompanied by a long seamless-edge pool and hot tub. However, I don’t see a floating green like I would hope. Perhaps when paying the $4,000 daily or $24,500 weekly rate to rent out the house, they would accommodate that desire.
Besides this house being enormous, I’m particularly interested in the way the architect intended light to be a part of the design. It would be great to see photos from the inside of the house looking through the grated wall during sunset and also looking out of the side slots in the house during sunrise.
Nice architecture for sure, but I definitely do NOT wish to acquire something like this. The position of the house right against the ocean ruins the natural beauty of the shoreline. Imagine when the next property over builds something similar. It is a bit of a monstrosity as is.
Beautiful. Wonder how many people are allowed to stay there for the $4,000 daily rate. 🙂
I think this would make Wright smile. It really lends well to the natural curvature of the shoreline. I also like that you have to go outside to really take in all the view. I can’t imagine how overwhelming it must be to lean against one of those railings and look out at the water.
Wow, brilliant work. I love attention to detail and light. Also, the photos are really great as well, especially that first one.
Want. Badly.
It’s too boxy for my tastes. However, having said that, I *still* like it. I’d just rather *own* something with more curvature.
c’est magnifique!
I actually live in the same little island were this magnificent building has been erected, still saving up money for a once only party
@CÉSAR, that is awesome! Can you share with us any more information about the house?
Also, I’m really curious how much of the effects from the Haiti earthquake were felt?
wow. The use of light through the house and use of rectangles throughout the interior and exterior is brilliant. Especially with the furniture. Ive got a case of FOMO.
hot
I can’t say that I didn’t like it, but I prefer more woody stuff. But beautiful, especially the pool. Also pictures taken my breath away. One week vacation there would be great, any donations.
Nice forms. Very Nice.
$4k a day for a massive house isn’t bad considering hotel penthouse suites at some of Vegas’ casino hotels go for more than that. And it’s in a hotel. At least the Hard Rock one has a bowling alley in it. Because I totally have 4k to burn.
What makes this building significant is first its amazing location. Second the use of the water spaces beside the water space of the location. Finally the elevation of the house including the style of the windows and slaps reminds me of the falling-water house for Frank Lloyd Wright.
