Argentinian Graphic Designer and Visionary Francisco Canton has a great eye for fusing together colors and keep textures simple. I definitely like his video work as well, the treatment is pro and you can see some Charles Bergquist-esque qualities in there which is a favorite of mine.

Branding 10,000 Lakes is a project or massive undertaking by Art Director and Graphic Designer Nicole Meyer.

Lake logos have a tendency to be, well, fairly ugly. This project was created to rethink what they could be.

One Minnesota Lake. One Logo. Every day.

Should only take a little over 27 years to hit ’em all. Stay tuned and enjoy!

Continuing with album design theme, here is a great set of Bulgarian Socialist era album cover designs, curated by SOCMUS.

SOCMUS is a virtual museum that presents different sections of the Bulgarian graphic design from the socialist era, 1944-1989, and is curated by photographer Nikola Mihov, and the architects Martin Angelov and Valeri Gyurov.

Beautiful annual report design by Albert Ibanyez for Can Xalant (Centre of Creation and Contemporany Knowledge of Mataró). In a parallel universe, these are Heathered Pearls album covers and/or prints.

Stumbled upon this great Tumblr called Geometry Daily by German designer Tilman. Really enjoying how he’s chosen to display these creations. Plus, who doesn’t need a daily dose of geometry and minimal design?

Also, I’m currently revamping the Weekend Inspiration Posts. I’ll have one ready soon. Any ideas for subjects or topics, feel free to leave them in the comments below.

Just came across this great Flickr set of The Canadian Architect covers from 1964-67, designed by Laszlo Buday.

Also, sorry for the abscence of this weeks’s Weekend Inspiration post. I’ve been helping out Tycho with the first leg of this summer tour dates, so haven’t had much time to post, but next Friday it’s back to business as usual.

Falling in love with this site called The Noun Project which “collects, organizes and adds to the highly recognizable symbols that form the world’s visual language, so we may share them in a fun way.” I personally love the Tornado, I just keep downloading and downloading some of the great ones not even to use but just to have like some graphic design hoarder.

Jason Munn released a few prints for the SFMOMA, i’m definitely a fan like Scott was when he first posted him back in 2009. The new material has great subjects and its a style that people aren’t ever really getting sick of since minimalism and band names on posters are almost as American as Apple Pie.

The amazing work of Australian artist and creative director Leif Podhajsky has been posted about here on the blog before, but I thought I would feature him again, this time as the subject of this week’s Weekend Inspiration. I have found myself revisiting his portfolio frequently over the past few weeks, In particular for his amazing album covers, as I’m working on a few myself.

He also launched the Melt Blog and has been experimenting with video and visuals.
