Weekend Inspiration: Shane McAdams

Brooklyn based artist and writer Shane McAdams created this amazing series of abstract Ball Point Pen Paintings. The depth created by the color variations is quite hypnotic and mesmerizing. Shane has developed quite the technique here.

lukeatencio – Floating cube structures accompany most of this feeds images and I only seem to love them more and more.

trevorpowers – Not only does he make excellent music under the name Youth Lagoon but its also nice to follow this feed when Trevor hits the road.

circa_1983 – Not only should you follow circa_1983 but you should check out his website

almond_surfboards – Even if you don’t surf they make it look like candy.

johncurley – I love it when someone can make something soo noisy and blurry soo appealing.

Tired Of The Mouse

One of the reasons I enjoy creating on my iPhone, is it takes me out of my usual process. The image above I created with Fuzel It’s similar to Grid Lens but lets you make your own slices that you can load up with images. The lines are the slices I made and then I added a tringle to each slice. (I added the clouds with Blender). This is all fairly simple to do in Photoshop with masks but not nearly as simple to manipulate. Being able to tap points and change their size as I’m moving them around feels much more “organic”. I find the results are less forced and there seems to be a more natural progression of the design. I recently switched from a mouse to a tablet which I find much more natural, but you really cant beat direct contact with the screen. Posted by: Seth Hardie Instagram: @hallwood

bradleycastaneda – I don’t cover many of the black & whites, they get too plain or overly influenced by capturing a photo that has been taken before. This feed has a great mix of mountain photos but the grit of the location shows, feels a bit more connected.

claireonline – You can almost hear the calmness in these photos.

diegovchavez – I’m careful about posting photos with too much HDR or sharpening turned up to the max, both can be controlled nicely in Camera+. I didn’t want to deny this upbeat feed because of my personal techniques, it was just too friendly once I started scrolling thru.

Instagram Photo Favorites: 18th Edition

six37 – I was thinking this might be the last graphic focused instagram post we’ll feature, maybe not though, I really do like seeing how far six37 takes it.

sofiasternegard – There are some lovely workspace shots by sofiasternegard, nice arrangements of whats in front of her, I definitely do enjoy that as a concept for a feed.

mikeluang – With the sky as the focus, its hard to go wrong most days.

Instagram Photo Favorites: 17th Edition

drsmoothdeath – Such a good feed, it all looks like this, just older parked cars, give it a chance, you won’t be bummed out.

mollielw – consistent silver-ish haze thru the whole feed, makes you feel like you woke up from a daytime nap out in the country.

crivacriva – minimal architecture and solid color schemes are pretty common on Instagram but this feed keeps me interested still, maybe because its not too simplified.

xativ – I know this is mirrored but I wish this was a real place.

claire0nline – This feed definitely will calm you down, you can almost hear how quiet it is.

cimek – I love the overall haze in this feed, washed out tastefully.
