I’m always looking for new eyeglass frames, I think people think they’re usually too expensive to be replacing often but if you dig around the internet there are soo many quality choices. Recently i’ve been checking out the rounder Warby Parker frames that seem to be all around $95, which is a steal. Any others you guys like? besides Oliver Peoples 😉

When I read that it sounded pretty appealing, then I noticed some of my co-workers using it and I dug in deeper and really enjoyed it since I want to bring in more product reviews onto the site next year, especially well designed ones.

Some people MIGHT write it off as “well this is how rich people shop” but a lot of this stuff is in a good price range plus it helps you pick something worth saving your money for.

LiveView is a nifty app for your iPhone or iPad that allows you to instantly screencast from your computer to your mobile device. It works over your network connection in conjunction with a desktop app. it was created by Nicolas Zambetti, a San Francisco based interaction designer.

I’ve found LiveView extremely useful over these past couple weeks during iPhone app development. To be able to quickly see how your graphics look in the intended environment is priceless, especially when compared to the alternative option, which usually involves dev simulators, wires, syncing, and TIME. This app essentially allows me to view Photoshop on my phone, live, while I make adjustments. Amazing.

Frank Chimero recently wrote a great piece on his hardware/software set-up. If I were to write my own, LiveView would be the most recent addition to the “essential” category.

This is the second synthesizer app I’ve come across this week that has a really solid interface. This app was created by KORG. Although I believe the design is strong, I am unsure of how finicky the controls would be on such a small device. I’d be curious to know if anyone used this app or ones alike it before?

There is another app floating around right now called Synthesizer 76 that is equally impressive. However I’m not sure if its available via the iTunes store yet.

Every guy has their way of shopping, some do a quick grab and go without trying anything on from J Crew, some shop only on the internet, and some just let their girlfriend or mom do it all for them. I personally like clothing shopping, I use to be a buyer for a few vintage shops and do plenty of looking around in shops every week. I came across NerdBoyfriend awhile back and I keep coming back, the name is a bit misleading but the whole idea of finding old photos of people that we love like Martin Short or Chevy Chase and helping you put together that outfit by linking to clothes that look like whats in the picture is a pretty clever idea for a site in my opinion.

I’ve really never been one to hop on an exercise bike, but this new concept called the Ciclotte, makes me want to. Although I’d much rather prefer actually riding a bike instead, but this could be fun and great to use on those mornings where work needs to get done.

The design is quite nice and utilizes carbon fiber. I’m not sure that is completly necessary but it does make it look a lot nicer. If I were to suggest an idea for this company, I’d say that they should create a unicycle out of it by removing the two floor stands.

A Danish company called Davone has released their second model of Ray speakers. They have a nice shape wrapped in walnut veneer that gives them a home alongside the Eames lounge chair. I’m all caught up in the beauty of these speakers but could only justify saving for these if the sound was exceptional. If you’ve had the pleasure of listening to audio from these speakers, please let us know in the comments.

The speakers use an 8″ woofer and a 1″ tweeter with a rated frequency response of 38Hz – 20kHz. The impedance is 8 Ohms, with 89dB/W/m sensitivity and a hefty price of $6,000—yeah, that’s $6,000 a pair. Extremely pricey isn’t it? Maybe some of you audio-savy folks can make sense of the specs to help justify the price tag.
