“The Ocean’s Salt” is the latest track from Ventura based duo Sleepercub. The two spent the past year exploring and discovering their new focused sound. The track takes their melodic and dreamy stylings (as seen from their debut “EP1”) and combines them with the left-field percussive and structural influences of producer ALEK FIN. The pairing results in a song that’s equally appropriate for a moment of reflection or a much needed distraction after a long day.

Sleepercub will be celebrating the single’s release alongside ALEK FIN at the Ojai Deer Lodge Friday August 18th (Event Info)

The fire last week in Oakland has been a huge shock to the artist community here in the Bay Area with ripples far beyond. Sadly, as is often the case, it took a tragedy of this magnitude to start a dialogue about the issues and conditions that precipitated it.

I first discovered electronic music in the ‘90s through the Bay Area warehouse party scene. Later I moved back to Sacramento where I started making music myself and playing my first shows at underground parties. I owe a lot to the community and history of this area and it’s disheartening to know that fewer and fewer artists have the opportunity to benefit from this richly diverse community.

This Wednesday I’ll be participating in the Oakland United event at the Fox Theater. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Gray Area Foundation For The Arts Oakland Fire Relief Fund. Christopher Willits, whose Overlap Studio is based in Oakland, and I will be collaborating on a short DJ set and a lot of other local artists will be playing as well.

I’ve created this poster to promote the event and as a tribute to the victims of the fire. We will be selling prints at the show and online afterwards, proceeds of which will go to the Fire Relief Fund.

The Echo Society’s fifth event, V, will take place in the historic The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown LA on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. The show will feature new works by the The Echo Society collective alongside guest collaborators Clark, The Haxan Cloak, Ted Hearne, and Chelsea Wolfe.

V, or five, evokes freedom and symbolizes matter with the subtle addition of spirit. It moves beyond restrictions.

In addition, V will feature video projections by EFFIXX and lighting by visual designer Tobias Rylander of Seven Design, who has worked with such acts as Miike Snow, The XX, Phoenix, Explosions In The Sky, to name a few.

Following a three year hiatus after the release of his debut EP Mull, producer and musician Adam Finkel, who goes by pseudonym of ALEK FIN, returns with his latest effort Án Mynda; a five track EP of which he has shared an intimate live rendition of the title track, Án Mynda, exclusively with ISO50:

This video was filmed in my old studio space where Jeff, Mike and I built and crafted the live show behind closed doors for years. Grateful to have that space preserved on film and finally give everyone a look into what we’ve been working on.

LA based collective The Echo Society has announced their fourth show, IV:Veils. The show and will be conducted by Joseph Trapanese, and will feature visual design by EFFIXX, and sound by Satoshi Noguchi. Special guests also include Mica Levi, Justin Boreta (The Glitch Mob), Matthew Davis & Daniel Wohl, and will take place at the MAMA Gallery in Downtown LA.

If you’re not familiar with The Echo Society, “it’s a group of like-minded composers, musicians, and artists who gather to inspire and enrich the community through the creation and performance of new original works”, and was founded in 2013 by Brendan Angelides (ESKMO), Judson Crane, Nathan Johnson, Rob Simonsen, Joseph Trapanese, Benjamin Wynn (Deru) and Jeremy Zuckerman, with past shows having included special guests such as Kira Kira, Ryat and Amon Tobin.
