Last week I wrote a quick post about the Nosh Promo video I made. Today I wanted to go into the production and describe all that went into its creation. Basically it was insane 25 hours from when we started, until the next morning when I exported the final video and the power went out in my apartment building (literally AS I hit export). Above you’ll see the composite I put together to show how each step of the post-process contributed to the final video. View the final video here or at the bottom of this post. I don’t think I’ve slept in days. Today our company launched our first app: Nosh. Above is the promo video I made a few days ago which will give you a quick little intro. I plan to write a few process posts on this whole thing: one on the video (which was an EPIC 24 hour production), at least one on the app development, the branding…there was an insane amount of work that went into all this that I’m really excited to share. For now though I am beyond exhausted and am going to go sleep in my chair.

I’ve seen people working with these sort of projection setups before but I don’t think I’ve seen it executed on this level. This is ISAM, Amon Tobin’s new visuals system developed by Blasthaus, VSquared Labs, Vita Motus Design, Leviathan and others which was debuted at Mutek on June 1st, 2011. Simply breathtaking even on the web; I can’t imagine what it must have been like to experience this in person. Great video, but would have been nice to see an extended version with more of the development process although we do get a small peek into the behind the scenes.
The amazing Kevin Dart has a new Yuki 7 book coming out titled “Looks That Kill.” To celebrate its release he has teamed up with animator Stephane Coedel to produce a trailer for the second hypothetical film in the Yuki 7 universe, and the result is even more impressive than their previous collaboration.
Mr. Dart has been influential in my development as a designer, and his ability to create a fully realized world with Yuki 7 is truly inspiring. Enjoy.
After Beamer shared one video/song collab from Sabrina Ratte & Le Révélateur I had to find more. Let this video ride out all the way to the end, 7:40 and on is mindmelting.
This is an awesome video infographic about the computer virus Stuxnet. It was created by Patrick Clair, a motion designer from Australia. I’m not sure which was more captivating for me, the visuals or the information. From a design perspective, this is gorgeous, but it’s also a fascinating description of Stuxnet, the first “open source weapon.”
For of those you who follow Mux Mool know this EP has been coming, Mux shared the EP at a low quality for free awhile back but now its back from the mastering studio and include a new cut which is my favorite called Flying Dreams.

One of the first Broker / Dealer tracks ever just got re-issued on Kompakt last month, super deep cut and very hypnotic, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I can smell a Bloodsport soundtrack sample a mile away, let me know if you notice it in the synths or I might be crazy. Nothing bad, I actually love this song soo soo much, disco set essential.
Since I posted the Worst Friends Mix a few days ago i’ve been checking up each release and grabbing up certain tracks from them, I found this gem from the Onra & Quetzal album, that thing has like 30+ tracks!
I want to get my hands on the Clams Casino EP but no sign of it yet just mixtapes, been in love with this one which features Squadda B, I wish I was friends with Squadda B so I could just yell: “Squadda Beeee! if your in the kitchen would you mind bringing me a beer?”
Once in a while I look for new cuts from Todd Terje and Pilooski, this new find Snooze 4 Love is soo bubbly and easy to take in, enjoy.
Also, in other news my younger sister Martyna Alexander who’s mostly an illustrator and the talent of the family did this cute 30 second short of a chubby rabbit delivering a note that i’m obsessed with, its sitting over an old BoC track called Close4, adorable right? i’m IN LOVE with drawings 3 which his face shows such good embarrassment and 5, look how proud he is.
