My last computer just wasn’t cutting it anymore performance-wise so I’ve spent the weekend building a new one. As a result, not much bloggery going down, but I’ll be back on it tomorrow. So for now, here’s a random picture of some sort of bad-ass record player. I’ll do a post on Photoshop / Media Production performance as it relates to hardware configurations once I’m done with the new machine.

Joaquim Blogs The Workshop
Regular commenter on this blog, Joaquim Marquès Nielsen, came out from Denmark to attend the Workshop in Stockholm. He’s written a rather thorough post with a lot of quotes and a good overview of the workshop. You can check it out here.
He was also kind enough to present me with a one of a kind package of genuine ISO50 Danish Cheese, which I was able to snap a shot of right before it was devoured after a long night at the Stockholm bars.
Brokenbeat
Poster from the BrokenBeat night last July. This will be released as a print early next year.

Vuela Print
People often ask about the origins or significance of my posters so I’ll be posting the stories behind them from time to time. Pictured above is the "Vuela" print, a variation of the "1971" print. I created this after I first visited Spain; Vuela in Spanish means "Flight". I saw this word everywhere in the airports and it stuck with me. I spent most of my time on that trip in the city of Barcelona which is filled with design and art, it truly is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. This poster was meant to evoke the same sort of feelings I got from the people and places I encountered on that trip.

Game.Set.Match: Layer Tennis Epilogue
Layer Tennis was a blast…thanks to everyone for watching and commenting. Thanks to Rob Cordiner for a great set and to Coudal and Co. for putting us on. I have to say it was a very interesting experiment. (more…)
Gallery Hanging
Drove to Sacramento today to deliver the artwork for this Saturday’s Gallery Show. Stuck around for a while to watch them hanging the work, took some shots. Should end up looking nice, there will be some new stuff in there along with five large format pieces and some as yet unreleased work that’s just been printed for the first time. All the work is limited edition printed in Giclee on watercolor paper. Try to make it out and say hi…There will also be a live Tycho set and the whole thing is free for all ages. Info
Layer Tennis This Friday (11/09)
I’ll be battling Rob Cordiner in Layer Tennis Tomorrow. I apparently won the coin toss so I’ll be going first. The whole thing kicks off at 12pm PST (GMT -6), details are here. Should be a good time, you can comment along in the forums of the Layer Tennis site.
Gallery+Show – Saturday in Sacramento
I’ll be doing a poster show at Sacramento’s Artisan Gallery this Saturday, 11/10/07. There will be large format Giclee versions of many of my prints on display as well as a lot of 12×18" show posters. All will be for sale along with prints from the shop and t-shirts. Afterwards I’ll be doing a Tycho set with visuals and all. Try to make it out, it’s free and it’s a very cool venue so should be a lot of fun. This will be part of Sacramento’s "Second Saturday" art walk which is always a great time. The show runs from 6-11pm.

Headed Home
Heading back to San Francisco tomorrow after another amazing experience at the OFFF festival. It kept me pretty busy over the past week so I haven’t had much time to post up here or respond to comments, but I will be right back to it once I make it home and get some much needed rest. Again, I want to thank everyone who came out to my presentation, the workshop (pictured above), and the booth. It was great to meet and talk with so many people who are so passionate about design. Hope to see you all again next year.
