I’ve really never been one to hop on an exercise bike, but this new concept called the Ciclotte, makes me want to. Although I’d much rather prefer actually riding a bike instead, but this could be fun and great to use on those mornings where work needs to get done.
The design is quite nice and utilizes carbon fiber. I’m not sure that is completly necessary but it does make it look a lot nicer. If I were to suggest an idea for this company, I’d say that they should create a unicycle out of it by removing the two floor stands.
Great photography and location as well. Any info on where it was shot or who shot it?
The bike was designed by Luca Schieppati but I’m not sure about the photographs.
As beautiful as this design is, I’d like to see a manufacturer design an stationary bike that isn’t boring to RIDE. That’s the real design challenge…
David, that seems a bit oxymoronic. I do see your point though. Perhaps you put on goggles and its a simulation. At that point you’ve spent $3k plus and you could have bought an amazing bike to participate in real life.
While carbon fiber is great, I wonder how wood, granite or glass would look like. I suspect there’s some massive steel balance wheel inside that would make some great contrast – and it would look less like plastic.
That building looks great, too, by the way:-) Nice view on the lake!
its looks good, but where do I put my water botter?
bottle*
looks slick. Makes me wonder if the concept could be extended to a real usable monocycle….oh how pimp that would be. Stationary…or mobile.
function > form imho.
Really can’t stand the look of this thing.
The bike (exercise or otherwise) is one of the few things that doesn’t need to be redesigned.
Does it fly?
Looks great! The handlebars look like they’d be atrociously uncomfortable, especially if you get a little sweaty.
Also, you should know better than to think this would work as a unicycle. Look at where the seat and crank are positioned… do you really think this thing would balance?
I was hoping the sarcasm would have been clearly apparent with that note. Clearly it wouldn’t work as a unicycle (I actually spent months as a kid riding unicycles).

just sayin…
Looks like some sorta training bike for Tron.
From the moment I saw this, I fell in love with it.
Sorry, no offense meant. The sarcasm must have been to sly for me the first time around.
When you look at a lot of design blogs, you see a lot of people with no clue about basic physics. Once upon a time I saw a prototype design (made of aluminum) for a shelving unit… to be produced from steel. The thing would have collapsed a floor.
Sorry I lumped you in with the meatheads.
very neat design, wanna place it in my room! looks pretty great, still some doubts about how comfortable…
From the moment I saw this, I fell in love with it.
Those handles are bound to take out peoples’ eyes. Not very practically designed.
Stunning! …i’d like to ride this on the streets! đŸ˜€
