ColorVision 8: Videos That Must Be Seen

3886-546x373
Keeping the Colorvision series going here on the blog. Just some of the latest appealing music videos, found video, vintage revival footage.

King Krule: grabs that essence of urban youth and sharing it with a friend, soo well done without it feeling forced, trendy or marketed.

Braids: Subtle done right by this Canadian trio.

Blue Hawaii: One more from Braids leading lady Raphaelle Standell-Preston, jump to the second half, her and the singer from Diana are new favorites.

Spiegel: What a capture, I wish there was more footage of her like this.

Am I the only one getting a little frustrated by the lack of posts on this blog? I don’t have anything against Jakub at all, but he’s pretty much the only person posting on the blog lately. Scott’s been MIA for a year or two now which is weird because it’s supposed to be his blog. This used to be my favorite blog, lately I just come here out of habit and am almost always disappointed… Sorry to just gripe but I miss having a cool blog to explore.

@Kevin. Vacation time maybe? It is still summer so people go out and have a summer life? Tycho tour? I actually prefer quality stuff than being flooded with daily posts of web repeats… But it is all my personal take… 🙂

I am bit puzzled by all this success that King Krule is having. What’s so special about that kid? I feel him as being a bit of a hype.

man, another solid set of videos!

king krule, a serious new hit in my mind. you said it right, feels like i was hanging out with my friends where i’m not supposed to, just if my friends dressed better and could roll standing up.

braids, always a beautiful. never heard this one, i’m behind. bluehawaii is gonna have to be looked into as well, seems groovy for a long drive home.

that last video, man, this stuff is definitely taken for granted these days. in the days of apps that you touch the screen and beautiful sounds come out, the skills needed to make that soundscape with that equipment are long gone. sound engineers, artists and appreciators being replaced by people looking for instant gratification provided by others free of charge.

thanks jakub for another stirrin round of sound

@matt, this is the internet, it’s all about hype.

King krule isn’t hype, but of course it boils down to taste. Personally I think he’s got skills all around, his lyricism alone is pretty advanced for someone so young.

What is the first song Blue Hawaii is playing on this video? I can’t seem to find it anywhere.
