Drawing and sketching has always been something I enjoy deeply, and done ever since I can remember, but it is something I regard as sacred and very personal, so I always find it interesting when I see others share their personal explorations. Visual Artist Mario Kolaric has been posting some of his explorations in a series called non other than Diary Fragments.
Really inspired by these and very tempted to try explore color in my own drawings. How many of you personally draw, sketch or thumbnail?
woooooow. i love them all. Great Post.
That’s really neat. Sketching, drawing, thumbnailing or doodling is a must for me. Lots of times, if I don’t have a pen and paper in my hand, I’m drawing in my head. 🙂
I used to sketch fairly often, but not enough scribbles like this… that’s what I ought to do to get back into it. That’s a great selection up there, though.
The drawings above are great. At first I thought they were screen prints or digital. I’ve been focusing more and more of my work on drawing. I wish more artists would treat their drawings as finished pieces. Thanks for sharing.
So graceful!
I absolutely love sketching and do it everyday, and like you I also have a fascination with checking out other peoples’ sketches.
Mario’s work is mesmerizing, a true example of how fundamental the line is to design. I recently came across a similar approach by Joan Salo, who applies his pen more towards creating beautiful gradients and textures (and on canvas).
