The new Brian Eno album (which has beautiful packaging, examples below) reminded me of how aesthetically pleasing his catalog is, so I thought I’d post some of my favorites. The reverse for Discreet Music is probably my favorite; need a poster of that for the studio.

i also love how he took the time to explain things such as tape loops, sorround configurations, etc. on the back of his lps.. wish more people would still be keen on giving something extra to the listener, and purchaser of records by including “little lessons” such as those on cds.. all the minimal packaging of the 90’s didn’t help..

@ Marc Well, maybe if he could produce some U2 albums, create and iOS application or two, score a few movies, work with David Byrne, make some sounds for the most popular Operating System on the planet, and help out James, Laurie Anderson, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Paul Simon, Grace Jones and Slowdive, then maybe I could agree that he’s BEEN places. But really, just a few ambient records with simple covers, honestly. =)
What’s that first one and why is his name spelled wrong on it?
It really is difficult to resist plopping down the $100 for the collector’s edition vinyl… Just can’t bring myself to do it though.
