EXCLUSIVE: School Of 7 Bells “I L U” video

SVIIB photo 1

We’re happy to be able to share this beautifully directed video for School Of Seven Bells of the song “I L U”. This video comes at a perfect time where many videos these days are very experimental and wonder off to something that usually is just visually appealing while the makers of I L U went straight in and grasped at what the song stood for and definitely put together a strong emotional piece of work.

That… might have been one of the creepiest things I’ve ever seen.

Something about dolls and clowns, just. Hmmm.

    Great song, anyway.

What a fantastically felt piece! The puppeteers become participants. It’s strange how delicately human those ugly-looking puppets were in their movements and interactions. I appreciate the layers of meaning in this, and I’ll have to watch this again a few times to decipher them satisfactorily. Thanks for sharing it here.

Good work Jakub. You just sold a digital copy for them. Absolutely loved the video, and precisely for the reasons you go into. It is depressing seeing so many of these ‘technically impressive with zero narrative’ videos. Such a breath of fresh air.

this is nice. reminds me on bjork – all is full of love video in the beginning.
great trick with puppets, how to hide and show at the same time some “grown up” scence.
also i love the methaphor in the end. romantic ^^

  5. G says:

An absolutely delightful and well thought out interpretation of a supperb song. Was ‘worried’ when I saw the early preparation stills but all became clear as soon as I watched (and rewatched over and over) the video. Well done to all concerned. Your real fans understand the emotions behind this. Good luck for 2011.
