Feric

I don’t know quite how to describe Feric Feng. His site describes his work as a “surreal blend of the natural and mechanical” — which is an apt description, if only lacking in deserved adjectives of praise. ‘Gorgeous’, ‘innovative’ and maybe ‘spell-binding’ would be my additions. For me his renderings conjure aspects of the work of Si Scott. Something about the complexity and super minute detail. Such detail that most people probably don’t even perceive the intricacies of the work; rather it just looks “complicated” until you look further and realize how much consideration and attention each element has been given. I have my eye on a few of his prints.

First thing that came to mind was Si Scott 🙂 Very different but still looks fantastic.

It appears that the illustrations from the “Roda” project are part of an in-progress feature-length film. Surely, that’s something worth keeping an eye on.

  4. Wow! I have to say these are some of the best artworks I have ever seen, I´m enjoying all of them, thank you Sir Alex for this excellent post! I haven´t seen Si Scott´s art yet, but the final result of these works suggest in some way an ” economy of everything'” even dough its complexity and refined detail…. salud!!

pardon the nostalgic ad nauseam, but i’d like to mention http://www.studioaka.co.uk as well (if you see Feric’s animated short, you might see some stylistic correlations).

  7. I ordered a print from Feric in March and still have not received it. There has been no communication despite repeated emails, and I can’t get through by phoning. I did manage once, and someone said that I would be emailed an update, and that didn’t happen. They were also very happy to charge me for the print immediately. I am really upset about this. If you know of any other way to communicate with this artist, could you let me know?
    Thanks.
