Firefox was a 1983 film starring and directed by Clint Eastwood in which the protagonist must steal some sort of fictional Soviet “ultimate killing machine”, which from the looks of it and the “specs” is loosely modelled on the SR-71. I must confess I haven’t watched it, and after viewing the trailer I have no desire to do so. But I did find a lot of great stills from the film along with some promotional imagery. Love the suit.

…the always pleasing “jump from a moving vehicle” shot. This is where Clint really developed his knack for directing.

  2. Are you kidding me? That flick looks hilarious! Maybe instead of committing to watching it, I’ll just laugh at the trailer a few more times. I do dig the promo art tho.

It’s a great piece of early 80’s family action. I’ll loan you the $4 if you need it: https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/firefox/id290556367

Scott – you should sit down and watch it. The film is pretty legit and the soundtrack would probably be something you’re into as well.

  7. It says 1982 in the title and 1983 in the content 😉 Anyways, I definitely want to watch it – especially if the OST is totally 80’s style.

Saw it as a kid as well. Liked it a lot, had a bit of the same feel as the original red dawn > without topping it though.

so after watching the preview I can deduce two things. One, this would make probably one of the best MST3K episodes ever, and two, that this video for some odd reason references me the what seems to be endless footage of airplanes crashing on YOUTUBE. coincidence? I think not.

Is it just me, or did it get a little Star Wars there, with the orange jump suit, then the narrow Deathstar like canyon…?

  14. Mark says:

You post pics of it but don’t see the film?? What? C’mon Scott, treat yourself to an 80’s cheeseball guilty pleasure 🙂 Firefox is the Mystic River of aircraft movies
