For Sale: The House From Ferris Bueller

If I would have won the Mega Millions yesterday my first purchase would be this house. Reported by Paste Magazine, the home from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is up for sale. Built in 1953, The Ben Rose House — located in Highland Park, Illinois — was designed by architects A. James Speyer and David Haid. The home is listed for $1.65 million, lets all pitch in and get it then drive a Ferrari off the back.

    Crazy that it’s still listed…
I believe it has been on the market for quite some time now.
Nevertheless I’d love to make that into a studio.

  7. Julian says:

Great post, cool to think someone could live there, great nostalgia. Personally, I think the style of the house looks like a dump. I never liked the ‘modern’ look.

That’s really quite cheap! Well, in CA it would be. I wonder if it’s an unpleasant house to live in or something? The fact that the owners rented it out for filming implies they didn’t live there full time for some reason.

So that’s what Cameron’s kitchen looks like.

  10. Michael says:

A stunning house, I would love to live there amongst the trees, it must have a real feeling of being at one with nature. As it happens I was watching the film just last night!

Why is everything in America so cheap? If that was in a decent location in the UK it would be upwards of $6,000,000 easy! 🙁

“When Cameron was in Egypt’s land, let my Cameron go…” It appears to be so peaceful and spacious. A definite step up from my 1 bedroom apt.
