My dad was a civil engineer so he would sometimes bring home project models and I loved to play around with them, but most were your basic hotel mock-ups and the like. It’s probably for the best though, if he had brought home anything like the examples above my head would have exploded. These are simply amazing. I want these under a plexi-glass bubble in the middle of my living room. Apparently they were taken from Taschen’s “Hundertwasser Architecture: For a more human architecture in harmony with nature” book. I found the pics on Doctor Casino’s flickr page where there are more details. Link
Hundertwasser Architecture Models
01.16.2009
I always told myself if I ever had enough money to relax i’d take up building miniature towns with that fake grass, a collection of prefab home neighborhoods, a 50’s library and all.
I would be just fine with a large collection of those little trees with bases on each one so I could set them in clusters around my place.
To light the interiors of models such as these is dreamy.
There’s a whole museum of Hundertwasser models and prints in Vienna – it’s one of the best places I’ve ever been. He was a man for a different era, I think.
btw i dont know if you know them, but check out jetset.nl for some cool typo
I’ve always loved Hundertwasser. Amazingly beautiful stuff. Even though I prefer cleaner, modern lines, his stuff really draws me in. I especially like how he combines plant life in all his architecture.
