Guitarist and electronic musician Christopher Willits continues his monthly series from SoundArts studio. In this episode, Willits proves the future is now by showing you how your iPhone can control Ableton and Max/MSP.
Tune in once a month as Christopher shows us some of the ways he produces his own music, as well as the many cool things you can do with recording software. According to Christopher, “I simply want to excite people’s imaginations and creative processes so they can more easily create the sounds and music and art they love.”

i have been trying to decode this masters tricks now for over a week. still trying to figure it out. i guess this stuff just comes natural when you have a degree in it!
this was really cool… im an amatuer “electronic musician” who needs to step out of the boundaries of Reason 4.0 so thanks for posting!
I have been using TouchOSC for my iphone to interact with ableton/max msp and it is the absolute tits…seriously a glimpse into the future.
Great episode. Anyone know if there is any good episodes/series like Christopher’s specifically on Graphic Design or design in general?? Also any cool design podcasts too???
thanks!
I was able to use iPhone with VDMX as a MIDI controller using an app called akaRemote. havent rejailbroken, but looks like I wont have to, considering VDMX uses OSC devices. must research further…rad stuff, thanks for posting.
I have used processing to listen to an audio looping program called sooperlooper and display information with touchOSC. Code is available.
