ISO50 Workout Playlist: DFA Edition

Happy New Years ISO50 readers! for most of us its back to the grind but I won’t talk about that instead I was thinking about hitting the ground running with a DFA Records playlist of some of my old favorites! I joined a gym yesterday, anyone else doing that? i’m not chubby but I do want to be healthier and since I don’t play hockey anymore this gym idea sounded good. I hope you like the pace of this playlist and maybe you can use it for other things other than working out, here’s to passing out the first day.

Is there anywhere i might be able to download this playlist?
am I missing some obvious button or am i just going to have to compile my very own work out compilation?

  2. NAVIS says:

Ha! This is great. Whenever I work out I always end up listening to BoC or something really slow and quiet.

I expect you to gain at least 20 lbs of raw muscle mass Jakub. I don’t wanna see a neck on you.

Funny enough I’ve found lately that I like slower stuff at the gym. I just feel more focused that way instead of with music that is a bit more aggressive. Russian Circles and Mogwai are usually in good rotation, and I also have been pretty into the album First Narrows by Loscil.

@GRAVY IS TASTY I don’t believe in giving away free mp3s BUT all of those songs are on iTunes where most are only $.99-$1.29 which is a steal or better yet grab up the vinyls which the sound is more rewarding.

    I’ll start you off:

I perfer to buy music too, but you know, i never turn down anything if it’s free and legal. Think i’ll have a snoop around sometime and see if i can pick up any of this stuff on vinyl.

anyway, as usual, sweet playlist bro.

  7. Sweet neon! Where is this?

I know it might seem a little too mainstream for this blog, but in order to promote your excercising, “Bodysnatchers” by Radiohead is probably the best running song ever made.

    Good call @ Webslung

I was already a huge fan of the the track Deceptacon (DFA Remix), but this playlist really opened my eyes to some of the other gems DFA has to offer. Thanks for the playlist!

Thanks for introducing Soulwax “Another Excuse” DFA remix. That was something, good blend with all sort of tunes and rhythmic beats.

  12. for all who also think that its gracious: here is the link 4 the playlist!

    enjoy!

  13. I still don’t think Lindstrom has bettered his remix of Tribulations. I play it pretty much every time I DJ and it always absolutely murders the dancefloor. It’s a masterpiece.

Love this playlist! So I made a Spotify list with most of the songs (and one variation): legal and convenient 😉
