Our Danish friends Joaquim Marquès Nielsen and Anders Baden Nielsen have put together a very thorough and insightful process piece on the creation of the poster for the movie “Connected”. You can check it all out at Joaquim’s blog.
Joaquim Nielsen: Connected Process

Oh man, that is amazing — the poster as well as the incredibly detailed process description! Very cool.
Great work Joaquim! I have met Jonas and Jens and supported their filmproject Connected from the beginning. Very glad to see the results and that you made i work!
Best!
Sweet poster. I’d say it captures the vintage poster look they were going for really well. Love seeing the photoshop brushwork, too. Nice.
@ alex — Thanks man! Oh, I’ve just watched your music videos on YouTube. I had no idea that you played. Your cover versions are really really good. Sometimes I’m just blown away by the talent on this site…
@ Morten — I’m glad you like it. Actually my good friend Anders did all the layout of the type, so he really deserves credit for that.
@ drew — Thanks. Most of the illustration was actually created using Corel Painter. During this project I really learned Painter, and I can recommend it if you want to work with digital colors in a different way. The way colors blend in Painter is noticeably different from what you see in Photoshop.
Really nice work and I like how you showed the process.
great poster and interesting process. thanks for giving us some insight Joaquim.
Brilliant! It’s like German Expressionism mixed with a bit of a Fantastic Planet vibe. Is this going to be for sale?
Super interesting! Thank you! I’m very inspired to show my process like this!
Damn! Good stuff as always Jokke! You guys are awesome. I’ll definitely invites you dudes to our next event in Stockholm 🙂
absolutely amazing, i have to step away from the computer and go back to pencil and paper just like this and then enter the digital world
I just sold my first design, and go figure no computers were involved
damn i am inspired
sweet that the coloring and shading was done in Corel Painter…I have that program and I have always been so “ify” about it…it’s cool but it is kind of slow program and has a few bugs every once in a while, I dunno maybe I just have a bad copy…
awesome process and poster!
