Jonathan Zawada

Oil paintings by Jonathan Zowada. Somewhat reminiscent of Thomas Scholes and Roger Dean stuff. Loving the gallery placards too.

An exhibition of large scale drawings and oil paintings at Prism Gallery, Los Angeles from December 16, 2010 – February 28, 2011. The landscape topographies were derived from graph data (displayed as printed mirrors on accompanying plinths), modeled in 3D and then oil paintings created from those 3D renders. For more information, visit the Prism website.

    Wow! like it.
Some look like it’s made by Bryce 3d(or4).

    Greetings from Amsterdam

Nice post. This guy is multi-talented. I’d also recommend looking into his design work. Never before have I seen a designer’s commercial work capture personal style so much as his. Nevermind his equally mind-blowing fine art. Such an incredibly versatile portfolio. Killer stuff from down under

Reminds me of the landscapes of John Avon, similar use of large soft gradients and atmospheric fog. Most of his work is illustrations for the card game Magic: The Gathering.

  4. Gorgeous. Honored at the comparison.
Headed back up to Seattle anytime soon?

  5. His whole portfolio is a piece of art. Great shirts too http://www.sixpack.fr/shop/59-jonathan-zawada

  6. Love these, reminds me of some screen printed posters my parents have had hanging up in my room since I was a wee little boy.
