Kim Holtermand – Photography

I’ve become seriously addicted to Dropular recently, and it seemed (at least up until their servers went down yesterday) that just about every other dropped image was one of Kim Høltermand’s stunning photographs. His work gets a lot of love in the blog community, and it’s great to see a talented photographer getting the recognition he deserves. I love his compositional style, subject choice, and I find his color palette sophisticated and appropriate. His images are imbued with a profound and mysterious tranquility which, given his urban subject matter, is a remarkable feat. There is a difference between solitude and loneliness—his photographs convey the former.

  1. Wasn’t this posted on the blog before? I’ve browsed his / her (I have no idea) website before and I thought it was via a link on this Blog.

But yeah, definitely, his / her photography is the best I’ve seen in a while. Absolutely love them. It’s like minimalism for photography. So moody and atmospheric.

I think this was posted on here before… but it’s still breath taking and beautiful. I never got into Flickr but I’m hoping that Dropular will turn out to be awesome. As soon as it’s up online again.

we have posted similar shots of modern architecture, but have not posted on Holtermand to my knowledge, but jakub might be the best person to ask as he usually posts things along these lines. anyways, a search doesn’t bring up anything in the archives.

either way, these shots are amazing, nice find alex!

  4. Oh and nice to see you’re a contributor now Alex, where’s my manners.

Also, this may seem absolutely stupid and or anal to some, but I can’t help seeing these things. I blame it on doing web design / development for a living and having quite strong internal guidelines, but your display name is alex not Alex. Like “Scott” or Jakub”.

Forgive me, I can’t help it.

alex, keep your display name with the lowercase “a”. I dig it. Its unique put up against “Scott” & “Jakub”. My city just came out of a 2 week long fog, and I took advantage running through 3 rolls of film with an old Agfa of mine. I also picked up a +81 mag today, has some similar Høltermand shots within. Very cool.

Nice to see a fellow Dane get such recognition on this awesome blog.
And isn’t it just typical, that it is here I should discover such an amazing photographer from my own country?

(The same thing happened with the music of Peter Broderick, Jakub posted quite a while back. – He lives in Denmark and he is only beginning to break the ice a little here now.)

@Daniel C: Kim is only used as a male name in Denmark, so I’m pretty sure it’s a he.
