  2. When I first saw this post I knew I had seen those images before. This link was sent to me by a friend – it puts you inside the cockpit of Space Shuttle Discovery with a 360 camera. Very cool, check it out –> http://360vr.com/2011/06/22-discovery-flight-deck-opf_6236/index.html

.and I thought getting jquery to work correctly on my blog was hard….thinking about the work that went into making Atlantis function really puts things into perspective 🙂

For any one out there interested in the shuttle’s instrument pannels I’d recommend the book “The Space Shuttle’s Operator’s Manual”.

It has some very cool technical Illustrations from the 70s and 80s.

Although the book itself in not an official NASA document, the diagrams and illustrations came from real NASA manuals.

Wow, as a total space geek these photos are amazing, cheers! Been watching the ‘From Earth To The Moon’ series all over again on the projector recently, definitely recommend it to those that haven’t seen it.

Love the technical feats of engineering involved in space exploration, such an accomplishment.
