Loscil+Ethernet+Wisp+Picnic Cathode Lake

There’s a single shared already from the new Loscil LP, sounds really promising, i’ll definitely post more once the album is out but here’s a teaser.

You can count on the label Kranky to never disappoint, while digging for Loscil I stumbled upon this band named Ethernet, not the best band name but they make up for it with this aquatic drone track called Seaside.

Any Wisp fans here? i’m a huge Wisp fan, in December his LP dropped on Rephlex with an array of epic melodic fantasy music that puts most new video game/fantasy movie music to shame.

A label called Twoism does a great job of taking the Boards of Canada sound the extra mile and finds musicians that love making the PBS sound, a definite net label that i’ll keep look visiting.

I love video game music. Here is one of my all time favorite tracks, it is from Final Fantasy XI. Very mellow.

Oh, sick. Twoism is an awesome board. Thanks for the props Jakub. If you want more, twoism has two other compilations and a lot of the artists there release on Archaic Horizon and Retronym netlabels.

I love Wisp so much, I was so excited that he was supposed to come with Venetian Snares last year….but the show here got cancelled 🙁

Yeh man, Twoism is choice. Proud to be among some of those guys. Saturday Index is probably the most talented musician there. Check out the Archaic Horizon netlabel as 91+ suggested. SI And other great artists abound there.

Ever since you first posted about Wisp, i have been a huge fan. I think teddy Oggie has one of the best bass lines.

    What is ‘the PBS sound’?

  7. NAVIS says:

The last two songs are not long enough. I demand longer versions that don’t end nine minutes too soon.

  8. Phasen says:

The ‘PBS’ sound probably refers to Tycho’s track PBS which uses wonky old Moog synth noises and that ‘nostalgic’ (overused word) feeling BoC and many other IDM groups strive for.

I wish I could have caught wisp when he was in Austin last december but unfortunately it was hallow’s eve and previous arrangements hopefully he’
    l return soon.

@Phasen – thanks for the explanation, that figures now.
