I really dig this! I’m almost positive the backing guitars are sampled from Jon Brion off of the “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” soundtrack. I could be wrong. Been a long time since I’ve listened to it…

  2. Brett says:

@James: Nope, you are 100% correct (from the track “Phone Booth”). The EternalSOTSM Soundtrack still contains many hidden beautiful samples, that have continued to be overlooked. Check the Piano on “Peer Pressure” & “Row” to hear what I mean… Jon Brion is a king, along with Clint Mansell, my 2 fave OST producer’s. I’d really like to see 5 different artists, from 5 different genres, remix their 5 favorite tracks from the Eternal OST.

I think the results would be really interesting.

Well damn the video was awesome until the guy showed up… feels like high school all over again. LOL.

Definitely a top song of 2010. So awesome that you posted this because I actually put together a “Lo-Fi Dreamy Summer” Mix together last week and had “Lately” in there. It’s a good one.

  5. Philip says:

Junia, I was going to ask about your mix but I see it’s on your blog. Awesome!

  6. Ian says:

This is fantastic, and you’ve gotten me stuck on any and all music that sounds like this. Delorian, Toro Y Moi, and Washed Out are on repeat in my house all day any day.

  7. AndresM says:

Gotta agree with you Jakub. It’s going to end up in my top songs of 2010 come december. I hadn’t seen the video, but I’m even more thrilled to see Latinos! HA! How often do you see that?

  8. RA_OUL says:

This might be the most beautiful song I have ever heard. Her voice is so delicate yet powerful at the same time. The melody almost makes the whole world slow down. Amazing!!!

James, I though the same thing. As soon as it started I thought of Eternal Sunshine. One of my personal favorites. Beautiful song.

  19. James says:

Yep. Eternal Sunshine is definitely one of my favorite films of all time…and I love the soundtrack. I’m curious to see what else this artist puts out in the future, seeing as how I already have a certain draw to the sound. 🙂

  20. Glad to see that you added Memoryhouse!

Really dig this song. So I do a little search to find out more about them. Come across their myspace page and lo & behold they are from my (small) home town?!!? I moved away 2 years ago. Crazy, I have to get back there.

Well, “Phone Call” to be exact :

And yes, the soundtrack from the movie is nice, especially Brion’s tracks.
The song is ok, but let’s face it, that’s mainly thanks to the good sample.
