Whoa! The last image is the record player my dad handed down to me. That’s awesome! It was sitting in storage for years, and still works perfectly. They are all such beautifully designed products…

    soooo sexy!

most of the consumer stuff we have floating around now a days is so trashy looking compared to this stuff. nice to see stuff without insane logos all over.

I bought on the flea market 6 B&O gramophones on the last picture (for 15 eur each) , they are in great condition the only problem is not a single one has a working needle, and a new one costs 300$ 🙁

Beautiful, simple, organized design. Makes me happy.

My father once gave me his beogram 4002 – I still use it, though it’s 45er is way too fast, the lights are broken and the speed is not constant. I just love the sound of the tangential tone arm.

B&O is a bit janiform: Their design of that time is timeless, their technical skills are both avantgarde (tangential tone arm – the best way to do it, no skating at all) and “behind” (mostly the speakers… The are really clanking in comparison to Cantons etc.

Unrelated question – Scott, are you in fact playing in Chicago this coming Saturday? I see it on your upcoming shows list, and on http://chicago.metromix.com/music/electronica/tycho-grant-park-museums/2567938/content, but not seen any posts about it yet (or any posters to buy).

  10. It’s stupid that companies don’t make products with the 60’s-70’s timeless aesthetics nowadays.

In my opinion, one of the best posts lately
