Those are really nice. What size are they? The same as the unmounted versions?

  2. Shud says:

nice, but i’m drawn to the white frame and i must say these would look so much more badass with a BLACK frame. i dunno…the white frames have a cheapy vibe about them.

  3. Scott says:

These are just an extension of the border of the poster, so if the border is cream colored (which these all are) the wood will be the same since the print is sealed to it and then trimmed down, the wood takes on the color of the paper.

Man, those look amazing framed Scott! Nice!!

I’m very curious to know how you do this. materials, process, etc.

    and very nice btw

I’d also love to know a bit more about the process/materials for this style of mounting – haven’t found anything to achieve similiar effect for the laminate down here (new zealand).
Hope you get time to give us some hints… keep up the awesome work, always great to see what you come with next!

The tycho nautilus poster is a near rip off a Computer Arts Tutorial found on their site. I would have tried different colours than that of the tutorial to do it. You have an incredible talent and I would have expected that you changed the colours at least. Anyways, I admire your work.

I would love to buy a mounted version of the Ursa Minor poster but it’s not in the drop-down menu. 1971, Past, Madrone, Vuela, and Winter are also shown at the bottom of the page, but don’t appear in the drop-down either.

    Saun-
do your homework….I wrote that tutorial and created that original piece from the tutorial. Then, as I often do, I adapted it into a poster (tycho nautilis poster) Are you saying I ripped myself off?

  10. Jason says:

Haha! I just have to laugh at that last exchange. Good stuff…

Scott, in addition to reiterating Brandon’s question about the posters not being in the drop-down menu (“Ursa Minor” and “Progress,” specifically), I also wanted to know:

    1) Any plans for “Ergonine” or “Huron Spectrum” in a mounted version?
    2) Any discount for ordering many at once (like the regular prints)?

I feel silly asking this as I think I own at least 2 copies of every one of your posters, and here I am wanting to re-buy the same ones mounted. Great marketing move on your part (if that’s how you planned it). Either way, I’m happy to keep buying your stuff, as I love your work and feel that it’s already very reasonably priced.

    Cheers,

    -Jason

    Jason & Brandon:

If it’s not in the drop down, but is in the list of available prints that means it’s temporarily sold out. More are being made right now and should be available within 2 weeks.

And yes, Ergonine and Huron Spectrum are coming soon, they will be in with the restocks in 2 weeks.

I didn’t really plan it that way, I wasn’t aware of this mounting process until recently and I had always wanted to offer an option similar to the mounted / framed prints I used to do. I actually don’t really like the idea of releasing something that makes people feel the need to buy something they already own again, but sometimes in order to offer more options, it’s necessary. You can have your existing prints mounted locally, most framing shops offer a similar service. I am not sure of the cost, but I would imagine it’d be a bit more expensive since you’re only doing a couple pieces at a time.
    Thanks

    Scott:

I was the lucky recipient of 5 of your mounted prints on Christmas Day. They look fantastic in my home.

The one I’m still yearning for is “Progress.” Perhaps I missed some info about that, but is that going to be available at some point, or did I miss the boat?
