I have been searching for some time now trying to find high res versions of Troxler’s work to post. So far I’ve come up empty handed and consequently I’ve decided to just post the small versions available directly from his site. For the uninitiated, Niklaus Troxler is a Swiss born designer (and also the organizer of the Willisau Jazz Festival) who now teaches at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. Off the topic, Scott, did you ever invest in that new Logitech mouse? I’m going to be purchasing a new one soon, and I can’t decided on the MX Revolution or the MX1100. The MX1100 is newer, yet cheaper, looks more comfortable, but doesn’t look like it doesn’t have a second scroll. Argh! Which is better! Why the cheapness.

yeah that first poster is perfect!
His poster work is incredible and he seems to be very humble as well. I saw him speak recently at the Chicago AGI conference. Good sense of humor.
Oh, man, this guy is my design hero. I had “Jazz Boulevard” perpetually checked out while I was in school. His love of jazz is effusive in his posters; they are brilliant and experimental, yet they simultaneously accomplish their intended task by being both extremely grabbing and informative. Playful Swiss design…who’d have ever guessed?
besides troxlers design, he was a formidable curator of the willisau jazz fests and i spent many a weekend hitch hiking out to willisau to see the likes of
anthonay braxton, cecil taylor, jogn abercrombie and so forth.
