ADR + Com Truise + Gotye + The Soft Moon

Cover Art for ADR

Machines assembling other machines with precision and complexity is the visual some people might get if they sit back an enjoy ADR who is half of Gatekeeper, and knowing that makes me insure the influences of this album is authentic and not just a recent hobby, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Com Truise recently leaked an old tune for free on his site. Datebar has this drifting feeling/sound that Seth mastered awhile back, it probably comes from the pushing beat and that release on all the melting synth notes.

SV4 nailed it when he commented “Sting meets Kings Of Convenience” when he posted the Gotye video on his facebook.

The Soft Moon might not return my emails anymore but I still love them endlessly, here’s a swirling anthem from their upcoming EP thats out on October 31st.

EF Language: Sydney + Vancouver + LA

Albin Holmqvist, Gustav Johansson and Niklas Johansson are really killing it with these new EF Live the Language videos for EF International Language Centers. If you saw the first few, you’ll notice that they’ve really gone above and beyond with this new set. The new locations include Sydney, Australia; Vancouver, Canada; and Los Angeles, California.

Stay tuned for more work from these guys!

To the Moon

Sci-Fi-O-Rama has some gorgeous scans from Time-Life’s To the Moon, “an audio and visual chronology that documents NASA’s Mercury, Gemini and (of course) Apollo projects.” It includes 6 doubled sided vinyls of interviews and famous radio transmissions as well as a 190 page slip case book, which these scans come from.

Be sure to check out the rest here.

Mark Richards

As a follow up to the previous post on vintage computer brochures I wanted to share the work of Mark Richards. Richards shoots many of the images that appear on the Computer History Museum website, and his photography adds an appropriate sense of reverence for the outdated machines.

Vintage NHL Media Guides

Howard L Berger via Raeo

I still do my best to be a hockey fan these days but i’m kind of over it for the most part but I was an insane collector of NHL(mainly Vancouver Canucks and Pavel Bure) memorabilia when I was a little kid though. I saw these posted on facebook and I had to share since some of the layouts, pretty unbeatable compared to whats out there these days.

Belgian Design from Paul Ibou

Paul Ibou was a great Belgian graphic designer who studied at the Royal Academy in Antwerp. In 1961, at age 23, he began working as a freelance designer under the pseudonym Ibou. The term Ibou meant “inventive book designer and publisher”. Also, in French Ibou also meant “owl” which initiated the beginnings of his large collection of owl symbols.
