With 9 million users Instragram really doesn’t need anymore adaptors, it just needed what people wanted the most and I feel the newest updated is a huge success.
1. 4 new filters: Personally my favorite has been the Brandon filter or no filter at all but these ones like Rise definitely have potential in being used more often.
2. The option to have frames or not: Now you can use Earlybird(another good filter) without that heavy Polaroid border/frame.
3. Finally a pretty big one, live effects: no more guessing and fumbling around, put your favorite filter on and take the photo within the app.
So, if any of you Instagram users haven’t updated yet, I highly suggest it, the photo game just got even more fun.

Brandon all the way. They also got rid of all the fake noise and scratches on many of the filters which was needed. Fun app to be sure.
Now all they need a is a filter to filter out pictures of people’s cats.
Cool little fact: the “Rise” filter was created by Cole Rise, whom has been featured here. 🙂
Agree! The new update is perfect. So now they just need to make a better web viewer 🙂
I love that Brandon filter as well. I’m also somewhat amused that they changed the filter icons from a shoe to a tree. Every time I used it my thought would be why a shoe?
@ JAMES Nice one, didn’t know that
@ JAKUB Actually, I was mistaken. All 4 filters were a collaboration between him and Instagram. Next, we need Tim Navis. 🙂
I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about the new update but I really like it as well. The improved camera functionality is much appreciated, as well as saving the pictures to your phone at a higher resolution.
Oooh, I’ve been delaying updates and will go do that now… as well as make sure I’m following you all. 😉

I had no idea about those life effects.
I wish we could adjust the intensity of the filter though.
Speaking of intensity, the slider for the tilt shift is no more 🙁
