I found this a while back and thought today would be as good as any to post it. Happy Holidays!
"As illustrated by this chart from the latest issue of Seed, the star patterns we see in Jewish, Islamic and Bahai design reflect how simple rules can give rise to complex patterns, such as the Sierpinski Triangle (lower left) and Koch curve (upper right) fractals. The intrinsic bond between faith and geometry has fascinated religious philosophers for centuries, from Pythagorean mysticism and the Kabbalah to Islamic design and the Gospel of John. In fact, as we’ll be exploring more in depth on my other site, the word "logos" can be translated both as "word" and "ratio." Via The Blingdom of God

hmmm thats quite interesting, i must say as i know bout it n practiced it too all of the Islamic complex art are somehow generated by mixing different curves and circles
Awesome post. The relationship between geometry and faith is a topic that fascinates me. Many people assume that science and religion are in polar opposition. In fact, the two are very closely linked. My personal opinion — man can come much closer to proving the existence of God through numbers than he can to disproving the existence of a higher power through science. Who knows though…
very interesting post, by the way the objects in the lower right image
are the hebrew alphabet inside “star of david” actually not in the right order but what ever…
Wow, cool man, big thanks! http://gmcjccgrubqbzy.com
Gracias, es un buen ejemplo, alguna vez lo vi como parte de un libro de ejemplos de fractales matematicos.
