  1. This is by no means intended to be a suck-up, but I’ve given Coastal Brake a lot of spins in the last few months, so I’d probably have to say that.

  2. This is an easy answer.

    Dusty Brown.

I just checked my iTunes and ‘Stevey Wonder’ is far and away my most played song 🙂 I would love a pair of TMA-1 headphones so I could enjoy Dusty Brown at work as well as at home (and look awesome at the same time!)

  3. Max says:

from what i’ve heard here this year so far, i’d definitely go for Bonobo and his Black Sands.

And since last night, i’m very much into Matthew Dear.. Black City is more then worth the buy (sadly though, digital only at the moment).

  4. Tajo Oja says:

Got to be Salem – King Night. Can’t believe how heavy rotation this track has received over the last month. Truly inspirational.

  5. Flap says:

it’s Zodiac shit from Flying Lotus, a perfect song for cruising in the city 😉

  6. I never listened to the type of music posted on here until i started following the blog. To be completely honest my fav has been Tycho! i cant get enough of it! It was never the style I was into but something about it just sounds perfect. I have this website open most of the day (wile i am working anyway) playing though all the songs. Thank you for introducing me to a world I never knew!

  7. Tom says:

    fav
song: Four tet – angel echoes (caribou remix)
artist: Bonobo with his “black sands”

  8. Matt Appleby says:

It has to be Lusine and Gravity.

I love how unique this song is and the vocal! and the album is to die for ‘A Certain Distance’ 🙂

  9. Dennis Zhao says:

    I really love Panda Bear.

    🙂

  10. Emanuel says:

I do enjoy the dreamy and airy music I can find in most of the playlists, but when I need something more energetic then it has to be the Ikons – Honey (Coyote Remix). It has the right amount of dance+electronic+a bit of mystery that makes it hard not to press the repeat button.

  11. Jörg says:

Umm, tough choice because of the insane amount of awesome bands/songs. At this time, i’d go for IKONS. Thanks Jakub for pointing out the label ‘Service’, some quality stuff on there.

  12. Filip says:

For me it’s Computer Magic – Electronic Fences. I left the indie scene years ago, but I always get so happy when some of that stuff still moves me 🙂

  13. Teddy says:

    BEAT CONNECTION – SUNBURN 🙂

  14. Orka says:

Split between Bonobo’s Black Sands and Via Tania’s Fields.

  15. edmund dorf says:

    to rococo rot – horses
(because there is no nosaj thing nor roll the dice)

  16. andrew says:

    mux mool! and then bonobo.

  17. eydryan says:

I’m not really a fan of the music you guys post here, some things are pretty great but most are just not my thing.

I am however a *huge* fan of Tycho (I know that’s you Scott) and I just love that so I’ll cheat by saying that’s what I like since Coastal Brake is in the playlist 😀

Totally not intending to kiss your ass, it’s just that it’s really the only thing that’s attracted me musically to the blog. Otherwise I’m just here for the design bits.

Headphones look pretty awesome, I’ve got a pair of AKG 272HDs myself and love’em but hell, another pair of awesome headphones is never a bad thing 😀

  18. chris says:

has to be ‘dusty brown – this city is killing me’, great track.

  19. kd says:

    ceo: come with me
song of the year for me.

  20. Agent 57 says:

Its Tycho, you producer of amazing landscapes you!

Your work took over from being my most listened to, after yppah’s first album. your music tunes straight in to my ear

I would use the headphones to play my first live set, im in much need after mine decided to break in 2 places at the same time

  21. eydryan says:

If I may add something though, I feel that these headphones are a bit vapourware because any studio-class headphones should include a couple of diagrams of important stats such as a frequency response curve to actually see if there are areas where they perform less than perfect.

Still, they look great and they probably sound pretty good too. However from the video I take it they’re the modern kind of headphones with a boomy bass and shrieking hi-tones. I’m more of a classical man myself, I’m just crazy about mid-bass.

  22. Lorenzo says:

    Panda Bear!
Can’t wait for the new record.

  23. m1lk says:

Wax Stag – Folk Rock and the remix by Bibio. Was on repeat for a long while 🙂

  24. Agent 57 says:

    whoops, wrong url

  25. Bo Smet says:

    Siriusmo – Nights Off !

  26. adonis says:

800beloved – everything purple / tame impala – alter ego

  27. Boris says:

I would have to say Dusty Brown

  28. Daniel says:

    Sun Araw, for sure!

  29. Martin Clabburn says:

So many wonderful tracks to choose from. But Aerial Pink got me back into the 4AD label once again.

  30. Ashraf Alit says:

Com Truise – Slow Peels has me dizzy, running around, smiling in my dreams. Now that is an AWESOME track.

  31. Lukas says:

I’m gonna have to go with You by Gold Panda… recent, I know, but I absolutely love it.

  32. Tim says:

    Lately (Deuxième)

The guinea pig set in the music video tided me over.

  33. VISGED says:

Flying Lotus & House Shoes – The Makings … great! Always!

  34. Jack Harrison says:

Dusty Brown, specifically ‘How’s That’. They are a band that I just never, ever would have found if not for this blog – and I love them!

  35. Anton says:

    Röyksopp

  36. Quentin says:

    Flying Lotus!

  37. Anil Nataly says:

    Delorean Real love
I love the fact that they still exist under the radar.
My finger are crossed. Had my eye on the the TMA-1 development for a while now, ‘specially after seeing Flying Lotus wearing them

  38. donato says:

    Ma Halo – Sun Araw.

Which has totally sucked me into the worlds of Oneohtrix Point Never and Emeralds too.

  39. Atlas says:

Always great new music here but it’s got to be Small Black – Despicable Dogs (Washed Out Mix) from the Ocean of Lips Mixtape. It’s so melancholic that I can’t help but ponder deep stuff.
    >
Also, my head exploded when I found Dusty Brown – EP on itunes before it was mysteriously removed (Could someone explain that?) and then it exploded again when I discovered Tycho and once more when I found out that they were friends. Plus getting “This City is Killing Me” for free (if I had any money to donate, I would…) was a recent highlight in my musical life.
    >
So I guess thanks for all the enlightenment…and those banana-phones. Just pop them in my box. I love you.

  40. Gal says:

I really (really) love Panda Bear.

  41. CEO – Come With Me (06/30/10)

  42. Bobby Chombo says:

ooh.. The Bonbo entry was definitely a winner for me, but I’ve been following him for years, so I’d probably have to go with Peter Kern’s Anaxagoras… That was a while ago, was that still this year?

  43. James says:

Hello! These headphones look incredible. My favourite song (and now one of my favourite artists) that you’ve posted was LePetitPrince by Cubesato, which was the soundtrack to the Vanishing Point video Alex posted back in January. I also wish it was longer…!

  44. Will Hurley says:

    Bullion – Caroline, No

I listened to their/his/her mix quite a bit this year.

  45. Daniel says:

Cold War by the Morning Benders, love that song.

  46. Kisses – People Can do the most amazing things.

    Loving the feel of that.

  47. dacian says:

    Yo La Tengo.

  48. Pedro Fernandes says:

My favorite so far is Gold Panda’s You, the slow beat makes it work-friendly for me. 🙂

  49. Cobus says:

Lorelei by Cocteau Twins popped up in one of your playlists this year. So old but so so hauntingly beautiful.

  50. Chris says:

Foxes in Fiction has been a great discovery for me this year, courtesy of the plug for “Swung from the Branches” back at the end of June. Wonderfully relaxing ambient that isn’t afraid to pick up the pace every now and then just to keep things interesting.

  51. Hazim says:

I have to go for Lindstorm & Christabelle – Lovesick (four tet remix) absolutely loving this joint, then again, there is so much dope music in this place that I can’t honestly say that this is the best. I just hit play and keep going through your collection over and over. Now imagine listening to these tracks in a TMA-1. NOW THAT’S, JUST ILL SON.

keep doing what y’all do. Loving the variety of tunes up in this place. Need a bit more of your high quality cheery pickin’ good funky Dub Step though, somethin’ to make my brain and feet bleed with da bass line.

    Peace

  52. torrans says:

I really love “A Tear In My I” by Keep Shelly in Athens but i think it has to be Four Tet “Angle Echos”(Caribou remix) i’ve been listening to it so much recently and its great to hear in a club.

  53. Brian Morsman says:

My favorite most surely has to be Oneohtrix Point Never – Zones Without People. It conjures up hazy memories of playing with Polaroid cameras and looking at old science books from the 60s and 70s.

Those headphones look incredible. It would be great not only to listen to their audio quality but also to wear such well-designed equipment. It makes them even more desireable that they were tweaked to the specifications of Ghostly artists!

  54. janice thorp says:

Hard decision as there have been some fantastic aural delights and new discoveries posted…BUT i’m opting for the following:

    Tame Impala

The main reason is the raw psychedelic-ness of the band…loved it and bought the albums.

    Thanks for the great blog:-)

  55. Renzo says:

    I’ll go for Ratatat : LP4,
’cause that record is a blast but I can’t help mentioning Four-Tet : There is Love in You (and all the remixes that the songs featured in the record have been able to spawn two for all angel echoes – Caribou rmx and same track Jon Hopkins rmx)

    Cheers!
    renzo

  56. drew kora says:

Ah! So much good music comes to me via this blog. But, I gotta say that my world has been rocked by Com Truise lately. Can’t stop listening.

    Rockin.

  57. Connor says:

I wanted to say Oneohtrix because I love their name, but I just keep returning to Caribou after first hearing him here, so that gets my vote.

    Keep up the good work!

  58. Dan says:

Odd Nosdam’s Up In Flames…lots of other great songs but this is one I was completely in the dark about

  59. C.Weaver says:

    Baths – Maximalist

Cerulean is in my Top 10 of ’10 for sure!

  60. JohnA says:

Beach Fossils – Daydream. From probably the first or second playlist of 2010.

  61. Dave Eunson says:

Definitely Memoryhouse’s ‘Lately’, beautiful track and great video too. Lush spacey vocals and rugged lo-fi production: delcicious.

  62. Nick says:

Probably Ratatat – Party with Children. I’ve been into Ratatat for quite awhile so it’s the obvious choice for me.

  63. Laurence H says:

Though not in the Ghostly family (you guys post too many good tracks to remember all of them) , I would say the one track I listened to that introduced me to one of my favorite albums this year is Radio Dept- Heaven’s on Fire, catchy and fun.

  64. Vesa says:

I listen indie rock (or generally rock) pretty much only from your blog posts. Thanks for introducing interesting stuff. The Sight Below Post Rock Era mix was huge.

  65. B says:

I’ve loved Panda Bear 😀 too great!

  66. gustaf says:

tom vek – I Ain´t saying my goodbyes, very good song!!

  67. It’s so hard to tell which one artist or song is my favorite. Your team and I have a lot of the same likes in music so more than half of the tracks you put up on your blog are bands that I like. Although if I have to choose one I’m going to have to go with Kings of Convenience and “Ms Cold”. It was on Playlist 5. Great track. His vocals suck you into the song and the sound is soothing and catchy to the ears. I have also been getting down to his other band The Whitest Boy Alive. Their album Rules has great tracks from beginning to end.

  68. Gustaf says:

I have to say, CEO – Come With Me
    Perfect summer-tune.

  69. Arthur says:

Editors – In this light and on this evening !

  70. Scott says:

I have to go with Shigeto…I love the hip-hop influence–which I find tasteful and not overpowering–underlying the glitch. All of it is great to design to, even if I’m only designing newspaper ads and nothing terribly noteworthy! But even so, like most Ghostly music I’ve heard, it is very relaxing to sit back and chill to. Now, if only I had some super sweet headphones to do that with!

  71. Christof says:

I’m still diggin “I Ain’t Saying My Goodbyes” by Tom Vek.

  72. Jason says:

Funny, my favorite of the songs you’ve posted just appeared a few days ago. Surf’s Up is my favorite Beach Boys song. I don’t know how Brian Wilson did it, I guess it’s out of sheer genius that he’s able to conger up such vivid images of sea and surf and sand. The slow, lumbering, sleepy chorus, the coda breaking through the clouds and the tempered and patient verses, it’s as though the whole West Coast was born the day he wrote that song. I played Surf’s Up at least three times the day you posted it, it does a lot for the imagination of a Chicago boy. Thanks.

    J

  73. zx says:

Probably not typical choice but Mayer Hawthrone. I am not a big fan of electronic music, but learning much about it and the community from you guys, and MH music was great at the time.

  74. Oh man, my favorite artist I learned about here on ISO50… its probably a tie between MuxMool and Best Coast. I love them both for different reasons. Both their newest albums haven’t disappointed either!

  75. flynn says:

hands. down. COM TRUISE. ‘slow peels’.

  76. MURDERMITTEN says:

CEO- Come With Me was at first, annoying, but now I cannot get enough of that song.

  77. LeGenco says:

Oh No Ono – Eleanor Speaks (Caribou remix)
    Thank’s!

  78. Caluã says:

I really like Summer Sun, so I choose Beach party tonight, Yo La Tengo. Panda bear a close second, I think.

  79. Camila F. says:

Oh, definitely Yo La Tengo! They’re awesome!

  80. Chris says:

Hammock – Breathturn — Awesome track, with a brilliant video…

  81. Chris says:

Hammock – Breathturn – Awesome track, awesome video had to wait a while to get it, but worth the wait!

  82. benj says:

    the morning benders!

  83. Daniel says:

“Shigeto – What We Held On To”

Thank you & the whole team so much for this wonderful blog!

  84. Jane says:

Juana Molina — Un Dia? Was that this year? Seems like only yesterday!

  85. Justin says:

    Dusty Brown’s “How’s That”

    Great track!

  86. Warren says:

It’s been a long year… recently though I’ve quite enjoyed Cherry by Ratatat.

  87. DAN says:

‘Just Ain’t Gonna Work Out (Charles Trees Work Out Plan Mix)’

The ‘Covers’ mixtapes have been so much fun, and introduced me to Mayer Hawthorne’s gem of an album, ‘Strange Arrangement’.

  88. Zeo says:

I really digged the Panda Bear preview. Such etheral sounds!

  89. Patrick says:

I can’t get enough of the Deastro track “Orange Summer.”

  90. Evan says:

the tom croose remix of eagle fantasies by mux mool. can’t get enough of it.

  91. ASM says:

    Piano Magic’s “Halloween Boat”.

  92. Miguel says:

Black Sands by Bonobo. I had it on repeat at the office for days!

  93. gil says:

I think my favorite song you’ve posted is Domestic Scene by The Radio Dept.

  94. Gloria says:

I’m going to go with Best Coast’s “Boyfriend.”

  95. Jabe says:

Van Dyke Parks’s album Song Cycle!
I’d never heard of him before reading about him at iso50… and now he’s on regular rotation in my ipod.

  96. David says:

The Hundred In The Hands – Sleepwalkers

I keep finding myself coming back to this track, it makes me want to dance, dammit.

  97. Nathaniel says:

While I’ve made Jakub’s recommendations here part of my music diet, the post that pushed me over the edge was 5-13’s on Javelin and JDSY. It sent me in a tail spin of summer synth avant pop that I’ve yet to recover from. It’s inspired several mixtapes and now I’m trying to make some tunes of my own.. therefore I NEED these bad ass headphones. So I can create better sounds and get them featured in one of these post.
    I can dream, right?

  98. Anonymous says:

Mus be Iwywaw by Com Truise. Loved the video also!

  99. Greg says:

I was so stoked when a week ago Jakub posted Ratatat’s “Cherry” saying it could be his favorite Ratatat track. I thought to myself, “…omg, samesies…” When I first heard that song a few years ago, I couldn’t take it off of repeat if I tried. Every time I listen to it, the great moment of release at 3:34 gets better and better.

  100. Carlos says:

I’ve heard some real hits this year but I have to say, Onra’s “Long Distance” was pretty life-changing for me.

I’ve just recently been exploring the 80’s revival that’s been happening, and it started with Washed Out’s “Feel It All Around”. Onra pushed it over the edge for me!

It even inspired me to start sampling and writing some ducking beats of my own. I picked up an Akai MPK49, a copy of Ableton, and began converting my vinyl to WAVs. It’s been an interesting learning experience, having played music in bands for many years but never venturing into the “sampling” realm.

Onra’s provided me with some great inspiration to look to! Thanks for that!

  101. JWarclimb says:

My favourite is Fire Ant fron Bibio.

    cheers 😉

  102. Conrad Davenport says:

Really loving Com Truise’s “Slow Peels”. Good times indeed. It’ll sound soooooo good coming through my new headphones!

  103. Probably Hubble by Actress, really feeling the genre mishmash style he and Mt. Kimbie favor. Slow Peels is definitely up there too!

  104. Thomas says:

I really enjoyed Electric Fence by Computer Magic

  105. Chris says:

I’m all about Star Slinger right now and I really like Slow ‘N’ Wet.

  106. JConda says:

I’ve been feeling the Shigeto “What We Hold On To” release. The blend of rhythms and atmospheric textures is ‘spot on’ like my peoples say on the other side of the pond.

  107. Matt Rennick says:

The Knife – Colouring of Pigeons

  108. Ville says:

Ma Halo by Sun Araw. One of my fav tracks of the year definitely.

  109. Eric says:

It’s a recent one, Stevey Wonder by Dusty Brown.

  110. os2k says:

Love The XX – Islands, and everything else on the site!

  111. Michael Cole says:

Really digging “playing in subway stations” by serengeti and polyphonic. Good for contemplative moments

  112. Michael Cole says:

Really digging “playing in subway stations” by serengeti and polyphonic. Good for contemplative moments

***wrong e-mail address in first listing

  113. tom-c says:

It’s all about Caribou for me at the moment, so the track from the new album you posted (Caribou – Hannibal) would be my choice.

  114. Juan Loya says:

    Easy, “Cherry” by Ratatat.

  115. Gabriel says:

I’d have to say Happy Up Here by Royksopp. I actually went and bought it off iTunes afterwards.

  116. Andy Mangold says:

“Intentions” from The Whitest Boy Alive has always been one of my favorite tracks. WBA is his best project, in my opinion; I love the synthy 80s feel that so many of the tracks have. It makes me feel like I am living in Miami beach 30 years ago, cruising slowly up the boulevard. Thanks for continually introducing me to some awesome music!

  117. Cole says:

Emeralds has been a regular since you linked to their album.

    Thanks!

  118. Philip says:

A bit of a throwback but I gotta say – Van Dyke Parks. I always knew him as “the guy that helped write SMiLE”, but I had no idea he released music as a solo artist. Song Cycle really kind of floored me in way that most modern music hasn’t in a while. ISO50 is certainly an informative outlet for new and exciting modern music – but your respect and frequent homage to artists of the past certainly prove your credibility.

  119. bryon says:

School Of Seven Bells – Babelonia

  120. Andrew says:

Small Black – Despicable Dogs (Washed Out remix)

  121. Lawrie says:

Really loving Ratatat, after that track you posted last week. Cheers!
    They’re gorgeous phones too…

  122. Tim Mancari says:

    Efterklang – Modern Drift

Not easy, but love this song.

  123. Greg says:

Com Truise. Highlight of the summer, no doubt.

  124. Lyle Hebel says:

Black Sands by Bonobo. More Please!

  125. BleepØ1 says:

I love the Beat Broker track, “Deep Sleep” you posted a while back. I bought the 12″ shortly after hearing it and I play it all the time.

  126. James Nord says:

    Boyfriend – Best Coast

  127. Baths – Maximalist is one of my favorites

  128. Lyle says:

Kings of Convenience – Mrs. Cold

Thanks for turning me on to these guys. (and Whitest Boy Alive for that matter)

  129. Shad says:

    Dusty Brown for certain

  130. Brad Conrad says:

So much good music here but Emeralds had me hitting “buy” in itunes immediately.

  131. Benjamin says:

If it weren’t for your playlists….

PL7 mos def was one of my favs. Although I dig pretty much everything you post here, Little Dragon – Feather was a track that just really stuck with me. They are one of many groups I would of never heard if it weren’t for your blog.

Bravo! Thanks for the ear candy.

  132. Tom says:

Definitely Best Coast – Boyfriend. Also can’t get enough of that band name – makes me smile every time.

  133. Travis says:

Toro Y moi – leave everywhere

  134. Kyle says:

Best Coast – Boyfriend. Your post was my first time hearing this band. So I looked them up, downloaded their album, fell in love with the album, and then saw them live at Pier 17 in nyc all within two weeks. It’s rare for me to not only discover an artist and fall in love with them in that time but to also see them live made it all so perfect. And they play at the Bowery Ballroom Later this year!

  135. the erratic ninja says:

Most of the play lists really just strike a chord with me and maybe it is lame to post something recent but I am going to go with Skream – Reflections. I think it stunned me that someone I associate with the wobble could make something so beautiful and like something I would play in one of my dj sets.

  136. skim says:

    The wonderful Yagya

  137. LeGenco says:

Oh No Ono – Eleanor Speaks (Caribou remix)
    Re-Thanks!

  138. Eddy P says:

Has to be Bonobo – All in Forms, featured back in March. Bought the album pretty much immediately, and have never looked back.

  139. alex says:

tycho – from home (mux mool remix)

i could really use some headphones…

  140. rob says:

Defiantly a must for every music lover is Bonobo with Black Sands. One of Ninja Tune’s best youngsters. I love all his material!

  141. Jonathan Matos says:

Jori Hulkkonen- I Am Dead (CFCF Remix)

  142. Nik Karlin says:

Kisses “People Can Do The Most Amazing Things”

great groove, good chorus, nicely layered. all round solid composition

  143. Sean says:

    Memoryhouse – Lately.

It’s somehow modern and timeless. Fantastic.

  144. kerk says:

    im for skream – reflections

  145. Kirk P says:

Lindstrom & Christabelle – Love Sick (Four Tet Remix)

  146. Carl says:

    Washed Out, for certain.

  147. Tyler says:

I can listen to Engineers by Let’s Just See for a long time.

  148. MRH says:

    Baths – Maximalist

all the way, I just love that tune.

  149. Kevin says:

    Little Dragon!!

  150. Kelly Munson says:

    Phantogram – When I’m small.

Blew my mind from the opening beat.

  151. Dustin J says:

Tom Vek I ain’t saying goodbyes was easily one of the best songs posted. More like that to come?

  152. Alex Hay says:

The Whitest Boy Alive – 1517

Absolutely digging his stuff now – thanks!

  153. Dustin says:

Tom Vek I ain’t saying goodbyes is the best of this year

  154. Computer Magic, definitely-definitely. I’ve been listening to her stuff heavily ever since.

  155. Brian says:

This might be obvious, but I’m digging Dusty Brown recently, I actually found out about him/them from this blog. I’m listening to This City is Killing Me right now.

I’m no musician, but being an industrial designer I appreciate how AiAiAi is able to bring simplicity and beautiful functionality to such a ubiquitous product (headphones) and still keep it fresh. I’d love a pair of those!

  156. Z. Tamas says:

    Toro Y Moi

  157. spac3m0nkey says:

Com Truise for sure. The Komputer Cast (1) has lit this summer up.

  158. chris says:

dusty brown – this city is killing me

song builds like a beast and pulls in with the glitchy break beat and that almost g-funk synth line. hot. stuff.

  159. Matt says:

Really been diggin that Dusty Brown lately.

  160. msader says:

    Hmm… I’d say Caribou… and Solvent.

  161. Tobias says:

You by Gold Panda! It’s the electronic music version of a summer breeze.

    Sun Araw, for 2 reasons.
    1) Cameron Stallones writes rich, layer-tastic headphone jams.
    2) I played him ‘The Velvet Underground & Nico’ for the first time when he was in high school and I feel that I’m now owed some royalties. Send me a check, dude.

  204. Lauren says:

I slept on Toro Y Moi…until I heard ‘Low Shoulders’….ever since then I’ve been vibing to Causers of This.

  232. B says:

me loooves Dusty Brown – This City is Killing Me

    Cherry Moon by Lorn

Quite a daunting task of picking just one song or band out of all that has been posted over the last 7 months.

It came down between Cherry Moon by Lorn, Cherry by Ratatat, Sundial by The Advisory Circle, and Light Through The Veins by Jon Hopkins. Thanks for putting the effort into finding such talented musicians to share with us.

  243. Kaz says:

I would have to pick the Tom Croose edit of Beirut. That one is hypnotic.

  262. my favourite song has to be sheets by promise and the monster. its more than beautiful.

  264. Phil says:

    Benoit Pioulard, without a doubt.

  276. David Wood says:

I Am Waiting For You To Stop Being Mad At Me (Off the Sky Reconstruction) – Rob Theakston

But if it was to include last years it would be Bullion – Long Promised… I’ve now bought all their music!

too many to choose from though…

  277. Anonymous says:

    where to start? hmmm.

Tujiko Noriko’s “Hyuga” is such a melancholic song. it makes me cry a little

The Casino Versus Japan track from Night on Tape, one of my favorite releases of 2010.

  280. Randall says:

Since I believe that architecture is a kind of frozen music- I am going to have to say that “The House Among Trees” is my favorite “music” that you have posted so far. Looking at the trance inducing photos of the house was like getting lost in one of my favorite songs.

  281. Tyler says:

I would have to say Tom Vek’s “I ain’t saying my goodbyes.”

As much as I love most of the music on this site, for a short while it felt like the music being posted was starting to become same-y, like it was just offbeat drums, wind chimes, a xylophone with a poor recording of wind blowing in the background.

Jakub posted the playlist on July 15th, and it was all great stuff, once Tom Vek started playing I knew everything was alright.

  282. Derfalconer says:

For me this comes down to a decision between Stars – He dreams he’s awake, and Slowdive – Slowdive (which was posted in that The Sound Below 40+min mix). I’ll have to give this one to Stars, because like you said when you posted about this song, it does have a very good tension build up and release; it gives me goosebumps. I couldn’t put Sun Kil Moon – Carry Me Ohio in because I just heard it yesterday so I don’t know if it will stay with me but right now I’m really diggin’ it.

Headphone giveaway? You’ve already given us so many gifts in the way of new and often very good music, it’s cheesy, but that’s how I feel anytime someone points me in the way of good music.

  283. Campbell Montgomery says:

    Phantogram – “When I’m Small”

  284. Pascal says:

I’d have to say my favourite is CEO – Come With Me.
The melody reminds me of “Aquerela do Brasil” every time, and feels so wistful. Makes me think of the 1985 film “Brazil”.

  285. Dax says:

Oneohtrix Point Never – where does time go
That spacey throbbing of fractal audio.
    Waves within waves.

After listening to them I felt the strong urge to cruise around town in a vector Buick with the windows down.

    HEADPHONES ‘Gas and Matches’.

  298. Zvi Epner says:

LCD Soundsystem – I can Change..

  315. Jason Miller says:

It has to be your post of “Excuses” by the Morning Benders (Feb 17th). That crackle at the beginning of the track is like starting your day off with a bowl of Rice Crispies and the rest of the song is much like the sugar I dumped onto my cereal when I was a kid. This song feels so nostalgic yet new at the same time. I could listen to this song a thousand times and not get sick of it!

  316. Rasmus Kalms says:

Listening to his amazingly tight production skills using these badboy cans would absolutely make my day!

  353. This blog has turned me on to a lot of great music (and design), but if I had to choose I’d say Flying Lotus gave me the sounds I needed to produce this piece. http://www.nathanshinkle.com/2010/05/02/lacma/

Hello You by Casino Versus Japan.

    Fantastic low key instrumental.

  387. Kevin says:

    Flying Lotus – Zodiac

  388. Abe says:

  403. wayne d. says:

Tons and tons of great music. I can always depend on the ISO50 playlists for new ‘work’ music. I’ve had the most enjoyment out of Jackson’s Remix of Kavinsky’s Pacific Coast Highway. Kavinsky can do no wrong by me.

  414. Brian Eason says:

Well crap, thats a really hard question. But I’m going to say Shigeto because it’s the first thing to pop into my head and I have the ‘Impulsiveness Disadvantage’ =P

Also, Shigeto is one of the new artists added to my collection this year, while a lot of others that get mentioned on here I’ve known about for quite some time.

Obviously Tycho is the best, but music that isn’t yours, then I would have to go with the Shigeto EP you posted. That was quite a find, and I have been listening to it non-stop since I stumbled upon it here.

  419. Carson Wright says:

Dusty Brown- This City Is Killing Me

  420. Kendra says:

    Baths – Maximalist

Baths is an amazing artist. The way he blends everyday noise to make music is astonishing, as is his obvious and pure excitement for the music he creates.

  424. Jacob says:

You posted an Interview with Tobacco awhile back and I’d have to say with the mixture of music, art, and track titles… he’s got my vote, for sure.

Plus BMSR is just an added bonus!

  425. mike slobot says:

i’m gonna say tycho – i know its your blog and all, but that’s how i started reading your blog – i will also pull the slowdive card, too. been a fan of everything neil halstead for years….

the knife – “colouring of pigeons”

thank you for your continued support of amazing artists!

  427. Stuart says:

Favorite song of the last year: The recently posted “Lately” by Memoryhouse. Ghostly and beautiful, it doesn’t feel completely real. Sort of like a Murikami book. Thanks!

  428. patrick trudeau says:

Your blog brought the Twoism label to my attention and I am so very appreciative. Great music and the logical extension to the B of C sound. Anyhow, I am a longtime DJ and now fledgeling producer who could really use a nice pair of headphones, especially ones so beautifully designed. Keep up the great work!!

  429. thom says:

Computer Magic, the first sentence of your post sold me:

“Brooklyn’s Computer Magic is just one girl that makes some great lo-fi indie synth material, this song Electronic Fences makes me think if Nite Jewel had to do a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s I’m On Fire it would come out sounding something like this.”

  430. will song says:

“feel it all around” by washed out.

i don’t know when i’ve heard it, but it haunts me still.

    cheers.

  435. Robert Robot says:

    I like Sun Araw.

  436. The second I heard the track, “Yellow” by The Samps, I went immediately to their site to buy their record on vinyl. Loving it!

Also, did I mention that my AKG headphones recently started buzzing in the low end? Could definitely use these TMA-1s

  437. Robert Robot says:

Since the first moment their music hit my ears in 1995, I have been in love. And I will always be in love. Bibio did a fine job on the remix, played during your playlist in January.

  442. Pedro says:

I liked Ratatat’s Cherry a lot. I already knew them for Classics, but wasn’t really aware of their most recent works.

  451. Ken says:

Going to have to go with Dusty Brown – The City is Killing Me. That track is amazing. Love the sound.

“Burn me out from the inside” for sure. So chill.

  458. Laura says:

The Whitest Boy Alive – Intentions
Lately when I’m going crazy while working, I just play this song and it makes me relax and remember that I have to enjoy what I’m doing 😉

  459. Milan says:

Flying Lotus – Zodiac, Cosmogramma album of the year – probably. 🙂

  460. Stuart says:

    The Sight Below.

  461. Stephen says:

I grabbed the Fight Softly after hearing The Ruby Suns in a mix you posted. Wish Foxes in Fiction was on vinyl!

  462. Monte says:

    Mux Mool.

There’s something refreshing about finishing an intense 14er and letting Skulltaste spin while winding back down the dirt roads.

  463. Cary says:

Thanks for the introduction to Emeralds – Candy Shoppe, and of course your Daydream and Coastal Brake tracks are on in my workspace every day.

  464. PSol says:

Thank you for introducing me to the morning benders!

Excuses is such a dirty track

  465. Martin says:

Been loving Mux mool, very unique sound there!

  466. B. says:

loved the fourtet via caribou jam: “angel echos”

  467. Andrew says:

I’d have to say Best Coast, I’ve completely fallen in love with them.

  468. jnrussell says:

    Respect!

  473. possiblyj says:

    Deerhunter – Revival

  474. kalil says:

    MUX MOOL love it

  475. Michael Corry says:

Well gee, that’s tough. But I’m gonna have to go with Mux Mool’s new album Skulltaste. The album evokes feelings of nostalgia, where I’d be up really late hopped up on soda and playing video games in the dark. Plus the art is really cool and the beats are very danceable.

  476. Definitely the ISO50 Exclusive Slow Hands Mix! I downloaded it to my iPod straight away and brought it with me on a weekend trip to my moms house with my girlfriend. The house is located in the southern part of Denmark on the island called Fyn. We camped in a tent in the garden right by the water, and one morning I put on the mix on a small transportable speaker that my girlfriend built for me, and we just chilled and ate breakfast which my mom brought down to our tent. Words couldn’t describe how happy we were, so I’m glad that we had the mix 🙂

  477. Jesse Morrow says:

My favorite has to be RATATAT, Cherry …so good!

  478. Jesse Morrow says:

My favorite has to be RATATAT, Cherry …so good! great group.

  479. Scott Owen says:

Definitely a tough question to answer definitively, but I would have to say Caribou for artist.

Caribou creates almost a new niche in dance music and creates a feeling and energy that distinguishes himself amongst an immense sea of other artists. I had the opportunity to see Caribou live in Tempe recently and was very impressed how they presented the album in a live setting. The energy and music was spot on and surprised me in the best way.

  480. Jonathan says:

Shigeto or Four Tet. I can’t decide. Both are almost always on repeat while I’m working.

    Cheers.

  481. Rhonda says:

Easily: “Odessa” by Caribou. My favorite track for every road trip this summer, and I heard it here first. I’ll need those headphones to listen to it at my desk, once the road trips subside. 🙂

  482. Peter C says:

I really liked Jakub’s post on childhood memories. The photo of Jakub’s mother has a really innocent quality to it. My favorite ISO50 post ever. As to my favorite song/band, I don’t listen to the music posted, BUT I do remember listening to Enya the day I found out my grandpa died, that was a moment I’ll never forget.

  483. Tony Pett says:

Coastal Brake! All great artists, songs and posts. I could list many if not all. But TYCHO has been very inspiration for me as I work on my solo gallery show at Amelia Hyde Gallery in SF 01/2011. Grand Opening 08/20.

  484. Dylster says:

Your post about Yagya’s Rigning led me to buy the whole album and it’s been on heavy rotation since. Powerful, haunting…makes me want to drive at ridiculous speeds…or shoot video…or cast off this earthly suit and grow some wings…

    Keep that good stuff comin’!

  485. James says:

Probably Mux Mool, there is a lot of other awesome stuff, but I had no idea Mux Mool and co. existed till you posted some.

  486. Chad says:

Mux Mool’s “Morning Strut” remains my favorite from this year.

  487. danakustika says:

Beirut – The Concubine. My favorite song, surprised you have it… I love horns and accordions and waltz. Such sophistication, you don’t have that around a lot with music in my opinion.

  488. Si says:

Loving Sun Araw at the moment – especially the track Stakeout – super nice.

  489. Spacecataz21 says:

I’m gunna have to say Berimbau (Shigeto edit) artist: Astrud Gilberto

with Bonobo’s “Black Sands” as my top album this year so far

  490. Adam says:

Washed Out – The Fantastic Symphony Mix

  491. mike says:

Sign me up – The School of Seven Bells

  492. Fever ray’s music videos were so stylish and in accordance with her music that it made a lasting impression but none larger than coastal brake on vinal boyeee

  493. Ginny says:

    School of Seven Bells

  494. Jonathan says:

Oneohtrix Point Never – Zones Without People

Awesome space out/creative work music. And it would sound GREAT on a good pair of headphones *nudge nudge*

  495. TAYLOR says:

This was really difficult. I love just about everything posted on ISO50. I’d have to say Tame Impala. Innerspeaker is one of the best albums I’ve heard in a long time.

I agree with HAZIM, dubstep is often hit or miss with me, but I absolutely LOVE what hits. Jakub, your taste in dubstep is highly compatible with mine. Shigeto and Sepalcure just to name a few, hit hard for me.

On another note, might I recommend checking out DUNIAN. I’m sure it’s post-worthy. His EP is available for free download through his myspace.

  496. wvpv says:

Coastal Brake by Tycho is the bees knees.

  497. Anonymous says:

Man, so many good songs and artists this year, but I would have to say Stars cover of Charming Man by The Smiths was my most played. Thank you iso50blog for bringing that gem to my attention.

  498. Sean says:

The Caribou remix of angel echos by Four Tet

  499. Com Truise. He keeps blowing my mind, and those Komputer Cast mixes are amazing.

  500. Justin says:

This is such a tough call, so many choice artists and tracks have been mentioned on this blog. In the end, I’d have to go with “You” by Gold Panda, that track has been on repeat in my house for months, and the EP as a whole gets tore through on a regular basis.

Runner up, “Costal Break”, such a stellar track. Tycho = Riding bike on a Summer day, sun on your face, feeling fine.

  501. Costal Brake by Tycho is undeniable.

  502. Ryan Bush says:

Bonobo Black Sands has been playing for a while now and it still sounds soo good.

  503. linds says:

yo la tengo – little eyes, mmm, good sounds

  504. Joseph K says:

Being a long time reader, I feel a bit silly mentioning something posted so recently, but I think I have to go with the recent fourtet+pandabear+caribou+starslinger post

Being an Animal Collective fan since Spirit… the prospect of new Panda Bear is delirious, especially couched as it is between a remix by Fourtet, and a remix of Fourtet, by old old favourite Caribou…!

Among all the music you post, it’s the unusual remixes that I get the least exposure to in my regular listening habits. Many thanks for bringing them into my life.

**previous comment chewed up by spam filter (?); removed link to aforementioned post**

  505. Zach says:

Emeralds. So pumped that they’re touring with Caribou this fall.

  506. Jakob says:

Dominik Eulberg – Daten-Ubertragungs-Kusschen (Sistema Remix)

It’s rare that I can play a song as many times as this one and still enjoy it every time.

  507. Kris says:

“Lately (Deuxieme)” by Memoryhouse is the song I keep coming back to on Playlist 9. It has to have the best use of sampling ever, but maybe I’m biased because “Eternal Sunshine” still makes me sigh.

  508. Oni says:

    Phantogram- Mouthful of Diamonds.
    Nice tune!

ps- your blog is so exemplary!
    Cheers, y’all!

  509. Byrd864 says:

Flying Lotus & House Shoes – The Makings

Difficult choice. I just started visiting this blog back in March. Even did a report on it (a report about blogs in media). Needless to say I’ve started listening to quite a few more artists through this blog. Keep up the good work & thanks!

  510. AndresM says:

JORI HULKKONEN – I AM DEAD (CFCF REMIX)!
So far this year there has been a TON of amazing tracks. It’s pretty hard – but out of all the tracks i keep coming back to listen to and play as loud as my speakers play in my apartment – it’s this track. I think it would sound pretty amazing coming out of these TMA-1’s.

  511. Calvin says:

    Bonobo – Black Sands

  519. Ben says:

The Morning Benders have by far been my favorite find this year, but there really have been so many that I love… it really is hard to narrow it down to one.

  520. Kendrick says:

    Little Dragon – Feather,

Yukimi Nagano’s voice is just beautiful and I am absolutely in love with this band.

  521. Nathanael says:

Caribou – Odessa. Such a beautiful track with such sad lyrics, and equally melancholic music video.

  522. jackol says:

    loving Com Truise. troofs. peadhhones.

  523. Noa Emberson says:

I’m with Ben on the Morning Benders… can’t stop listening to them.

  537. Josh says:

The ‘This City Is Killing Me’ EP from Dusty Brown.

I’d been following them for a couple years and kept getting blocked from getting their stuff by ‘sold out’ banners, so I was definitely really happy when you guys released it here for free!

  538. Kostya says:
