    An exquisite dream.
How I would love to take a few synths there and see how inspiration strikes..

I feel like this post is too limited in the scope of Saunder’s work. He creates simply fantastic artifacts on landscapes, of which the best is probably the overlook he built in a Norwegian Fjord. But relating to this project, It is part of a larger collective of structures he created on a remote island in Newfoundland. Each of these ‘archipelagos’ of scattered artist studios relates to its direct surroundings framing each moment in uniquely sensational ways through similar language.

I do think it is a fantastic individual project, but it should be noted that this project is part of an iterative, site specific series.

This one hits home, my family, Saunders, hails from Newfoundland. The architect, Todd Saunders, apparently went to NSCAD, the local arts college here in Halifax. I am not sure what appears to be more strange, and appealing; if it’s the huge contrast from outside to in, or that the building is built in pure isolation that you can only find in places like Newfoundland.

  4. Yup, this place was not designed with me in mind… hahaha
