Yeah, I’d say just a wee bit of Epicness in there.

  2. mg33 says:

I thought the original version was stupid as a kid, and I think this one is stupid as an adult. I just don’t get the story.

  3. Mux Mool says:

So, Tron is coming out on my birthday? I guess I have to go see it.

  4. Ebsbow says:

@mg33: Stupid? The whole concept was great, the special effects where very novel, still are. That was beside the computer generated stuff, which was for 1982 norms, cool.
I don’t know how old you are, or where back then, but if you are as old as I when this came out, then I was an atmospheric movie. And the arcade game!
That’s an personal taste, but so was Blade Runner.
    😉

  5. calmer says:

    just a tad bit epic…..

  6. Is Daft Punk really doing the soundtrack, or is that just a rumor?

  7. Dean says:

    God dam I can’t wait!

  8. J. Woodward says:

    Oh sweet mercy that’s hot.

  9. Scott says:

Yes, Daft Punk is scoring, and just for proof go here, http://disney.go.com/tron/index_flash.html#/home there is 6 new tid bits of the score up, and they kick total bloody ass.

And the Original holds up rather well, especially considering how much it got right, then you and in the Syd Mead, Mobius factor and its a classic in the design sense of the word. Coming on Blu soon as well

  10. Clint says:

word has it that Tron wasn’t considered for an oscar for special effects in ’82 because the academy felt they cheated by using computers.

  11. Justin says:

I have been very excited for this movie for about 3 years . Though after Looking at the facial animation for Young Jeff Bridges I was horrified .

Everything is fine until he begins to talk , I really hope that thats not the final look . It might very well ruin the movie for me and i want to love this movie so much .

  12. Susan says:

Empire did a super long article about Tron this month which got me pretty excited. I think it could be good.

  13. Daft Punk score? Somehow now I’m less worried.

  14. Joel Nealy says:

Why is the music always so loud in these previews. Even in movie theatres the volume is too loud causing distortion. That really grinds my gears and I dont understand how that even made it through production. You would see all the volume gauges in the red, signifying “clipping”.

other than that…this looks downright awesome.

  15. Tom Eldridge says:

The irony is that the first Tron film got absolutely trashed at the box office and by critics at the time.

I had a book at the time and it mentioned that each frame of the film was hand painted to get the desired effects. Also explains why Disney spent a lot of money on the project

It’s fair to say that some 25 years later the sequel will recoup it’s expenditure.

  16. Tardlovski says:

    h-o-l-y s-h-i-t

  17. ebsbow says:

I was impressed by the novelty and originality of the created world and effects when this movie came out.
I hope the CGI will not be over the top and leave something to the imagination like the first movie. Hopefully lots of real world props.

  18. Dean says:

I can’t wait to see this, and to get my hands on it’s soundtrack!
You can catch a preview of it here:

  19. RB says:

    epic…

  20. themark says:

Apparently Daft Punk will also do a small cameo, appearing in the TRON universe… as DJ’s. No Yori though…. bummer

  21. Poma says:

I don’t trust hollywood enough. They’ve ruined some great movies. We’ll see how this one pans out but I’m not excited because I hate to be let down, again. Tron was great, this…well, we’ll see.
