Tron Soundtrack: Daft Punk

I went to see Tron Legacy in 3D twice over holiday break and i’ve had 2 songs from the movie lodged in my head. End of Line which is just pure sleek synth danger that you’d listen to while yooooooooou droooove a motorcycle at night…. wait that works out perfect. As for The Game Has Changed, now that intro synth line just floors me, I remember when it started and I got goosebumps right away, nice job on that one Daft Punk, you did it. To fill out the playlist I added this super rowdy David Carretta track that I’ve loved for the longest time, I couldn’t rip my vinyl so I had to jack a mixed version from iTunes. Also, another slow electro classic in my mind is Miss Kittin & The Hacker’s Stock Exchange, such a cold attitude, I love it.

I went to see this film only because of the visuals and music, I kinda expected that the story would be so bad that it would ruin the whole experience (judging from the trailers). But thankfully, nothing in the story felt as stupid as I expected, so when I left the theater I only felt love! <3

I'm in love with Tron :-p

Agreed! Such a great sound track. For me, Daft Punk had a huge role in making what could have been a hammy remake into a legit sensory experience.

I love that End Of Line song! Not seen the movie yet but might soon. Had the privilege of listening to the soundtrack in a friend’s car’s 2,000 watt stereo system – subs, 3-way speakers, the works – and End Of Line shook my stomach.

End of Line is most certainly staying on repeat for quite sometime now. Well into the next year!
I found a longer edit on youtube but cannot find where it came from.

I too had goosebumps when I heard the soundtrack in the theater.
It is truly a revolutionary mix of classical and electronic music.

Some tracks you could be forgiven for thinking they were from Inception, like ‘The game has changed’ for example. That exact same dramatic stab.

  8. Salemid, thx for posting, I was getting suspicious that a production duo whose biggest hits are practically edited sample loops could be behind such an original score. Don’t get me wrong, I love and have loved (more then than now) Daft Punk for more than a decade, but yeah…

The movie is visually stunning, the story is passable, go get really stoned and see it.

  9. “The Game Has Changed” is one of my favorite tracks too! My heart rate goes up when I listen to it, lol. The danger feel is so incredible.

I have had this soundtrack on repeat, daily, for about a week. Now I listen to it almost every other day.

  10. Jarson says:

Maybe I’m over speculating but it seems End of the Line is almost like an homage to ROYGBIV in it’s melody. The score is great.

As for the movie, it’s good, not great. But there are most certainly some memorable visuals though. I want a gif of those fireworks.

  11. Certainly is a great soundtrack and has shown Daft Punk to be very capable when out of their comfort zone.

I’ve heard the soundtrack is far better than the film actually, though I’ve yet to see it myself, the visuals do look spectacular.

  12. Kathryn says:

    End of Line….definitely.

  13. Jacob says:

Great Album, Great Movie. Along with “End of Line”, I also enjoyed the track “Solar Sailer”.

  14. Daft Punk was a major factor in me wanting to see Tron Legacy. I have to say though, I wish they would create another album that has more fully developed versions of the best songs. 1-2 minute songs are just too short for some of them.

  15. Chris Olerich says:

“The Game Has Changed” is the absolute best song to listen to while walking in the middle of the night. Seriously, everything you do while listening to that song seems so much more important than it actually is.

Oh, and being a little drunk helps too. Then you just feel like a total badass.

  16. Dave Legion says:

DITTO – the soundtrack is stunning TRON was just one long incredible music video.

    > LOVE – The Daydream

I too enjoy the Soundtrack “End of the Line”

Tron was awesome and the soundtrack was amazing by Daft Punk.

For all of you who enjoyed “End of the Line” check out a remix of it – I find it very deep and dark which is a nice addition to how already dark this track is.
