You’re right… this guy is a master of his craft! To combine this kind of glow, haze, and texture so seamlessly with animation is truly amazing. Somehow, the fact that this can’t be captured in print makes it even more beauteous.

On a side note, I know very little about creating animated GIFs… but every time I see DiVito’s work, I want to learn.

Frickin brilliant. So many of his gifs could be used for projector visuals. The soft blur hexagon is def my favorite.

Listen to Ezekiel Honig’s More Human than Human. It’s perfect for these.

For further inspiration, you might enjoy researching cymatics – the visual manifestation of geometrical patterns in physical substrates by means of sine wave vibrations.

I’ve yet to do much experimentation of my own, but some of the best phenomena I’ve seen have been produced by the youtube user Waterdruide – http://www.youtube.com/user/Waterdruide.

Also check out the work of Alexander Lauterwasser for even more archetypal forms, if you’re interested – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfL0vECSomg.

I’ve found cymatics to be endlessly fascinating. Hope you enjoy!

Just got done watching “Beyond the Black Rainbow” and these pics remind me of the images on the girl’s tv screens in her room. That movie was so weird but visually beautiful.

  13. Creative! You’re the best artist; I really enjoy watching your post. Very nice, hope I have a talent like you. Your idea so brilliant! Even though you use a simple color but the output is nice. I’m looking forward of more photos because I love viewing your site. I really love it! Thank you!
