Great design, crap name. When are people going to start using vowels again?

Damn, so sad this won’t run on my 3g…

Now this is nice. The one posted a couple days ago was nicely designed, but being Finnish in nature it wasn’t usable in many other countries for several reasons. This one is ridiculously simple and uncluttered, and I bet with a little work they could update to include some equally elegant forecasting features similar to the hourly temps and weather types that the iPhone weather app uses.

Yes! This is the one I commented on in the other weather post. As Slofu said, “Hotness.”

Not a great name choice being that WTHR is the NBC TV affiliate in Indianapolis.

I agree, this app looks stunning. But the negative comments on the iTunes store page leave a bad taste in my mouth, some real usability issues are highlighted there that seem like they are pretty avoidable. I guess just a reminder that a good interface needs to be more than a pretty design.

the concept is deadly, BUT, something about the color scheme rubs me the wrong way…for a weather app it’s really more cozy with a dreary day than a bright happy sunny one. it’s almost like that shitty 80’s tan plastic clock radio you had when you were a kid that’s been bleached in the sun for 15yrs. not a good nostalgia really…

for $0.99 it’s hard to bitch, but wait, it doesn’t work on my 3G!

Nicest looking weather app out there for sure.

    Weather. Great.

Looks great, and was about to buy… until I read the reviews. Think I’ll wait for all the issues to be fixed first.

I think i saw this on Dribbble; makes you feel like you can change the weather to your liking 😀

(Plz when linking apps just link the iTunes Preview, can’t stand iTunes coming up for something i just want to check the price for)

I have this app on my 4s, and while the interface is beautiful, there is a huge issue with location services. Once the app is activiated, location services turns on (purple arrow in top right side of screen next to battery icon). Problem is, unlike most weather apps, when closing out or even force-quitting this app, location services remains on. It’s a problem because not only does it constantly drain your battery, but there is severe privacy violations too. With location services constantly running, this app always knows where you are. It’s been suggested that the developer can and is selling your present location to advertisers. Seems pretty shady to me. This issue has been raised since the app first came out, yet the developer refuses to address or fix. Not to mention all of the shady reviews suggesting it has been fixed. It has not been fixed. Shady business practice indeed.
